Best NFL DFS Picks Today: Top Value Plays for Sunday’s Week 8 Slate

Week 8 brings an 11-game Sunday main slate to DraftKings and FanDuel, with eight games kicking off at 1:00 p.m. ET, the Chargers and Rams at 4:05, and Patriots-Dolphins and Chiefs-Broncos at 4:25. Four teams are on bye, and the market has pointed at two shootouts: Cardinals at Cowboys and Ravens at Bills both carry a 54.5 total, with nothing else on the board above 46.5.

Our approach for today’s Sunday NFL DFS picks is simple: build around the two highest-scoring games, spend up on the target hogs who are producing, and look for a bounce-back at a discount. Here are five players to anchor your DraftKings lineup and FanDuel picks, with salaries listed on DraftKings unless noted. Remember that inactive lists land about 90 minutes before kickoff, so confirm every questionable name before lock.

Dak Prescott, QB — Dallas Cowboys ($6,300 DK)

Prescott is the best quarterback value on the slate. The Cowboys are favored by a touchdown at home against Arizona and carry the highest implied team total on the board at 30.75 points. Prescott just threw three touchdowns in Dallas’ 38-21 win at Philadelphia on Monday night, and he enters the weekend with 1,851 passing yards and 13 touchdowns against five interceptions.

The matchup is the other half of the story. Arizona has allowed 228 passing yards per game, 20th in the league, and 13 different players have caught a touchdown pass against the Cardinals this season. At $6,300, Prescott sits well below six other quarterbacks in salary while offering a ceiling that rivals the top of the position. He works in both cash game picks and GPP picks, particularly as part of a Cowboys-Cardinals game stack.

CeeDee Lamb, WR — Dallas Cowboys ($8,100 DK)

Lamb is the premium skill-position play, and the volume makes the price easy to stomach. He leads the NFL with 81 targets, has caught 53 passes for 651 yards, and has six touchdowns through seven games, including two against the Eagles. That is an average of roughly 93 receiving yards per game on 11.6 targets.

The Cardinals’ secondary has been vulnerable to opposing top receivers, and with George Pickens listed as questionable with shoulder and hamstring issues but expected to play, Lamb remains the clear first option in a game environment that should demand passing. If you want a lower-owned way to stack Dallas, Pickens is a tournament-only pivot, but Lamb is the safer anchor for cash.

Trey McBride, TE — Arizona Cardinals ($7,400 DK)

If you want to run back a Dallas stack, McBride is the cleanest way to do it. He leads Arizona with 59 catches on 78 targets for 472 yards and four touchdowns, and he is coming off a 10-catch, 111-yard, one-touchdown game on 13 targets against Denver. The Cardinals are underdogs by a touchdown, which points toward a pass-heavy game script.

At $7,400, McBride is priced like a receiver rather than a tight end, but the target share is the best at the position and his receiving yardage prop opened around 71.5 to 73.5 yards. Pairing him with Prescott and Lamb gives you three pieces of a game that is tied for the highest total of the week.

Derrick Henry, RB — Baltimore Ravens ($7,200 DK)

Henry is a contrarian buy-low spot in the other 54.5-total game. The Ravens have lost two straight, and Henry has been held to 45 and 58 yards over the last two weeks, with his season average dipping to 3.9 yards per carry. That recent production is the reason ownership could be softer than his talent deserves. He still leads Baltimore with 579 rushing yards and seven touchdowns on 147 carries.

Two things tilt this toward upside. Lamar Jackson is expected to return from an ankle injury, which should give defenses more to worry about than Henry, and Buffalo has not allowed 100 rushing yards to an opposing back this season but does rank only 15th against the run at about 101 yards per game. Henry has averaged 100.6 rushing yards per game against the Bills since 2021 with eight touchdowns across five meetings. This is a GPP play with touchdown-or-bust leverage.

Chase Brown, RB — Cincinnati Bengals ($6,300 DK / $7,100 FD)

Brown has been a disappointment this season, but the setup is hard to ignore. Cincinnati is a 12.5-point favorite over Tennessee, the biggest spread on the board, and the Titans have allowed 131.1 rushing yards per game, seventh-most in the NFL. When a team is expected to lead comfortably, the lead back tends to collect carries late.

The recent numbers are ugly: 11 carries for 39 yards against Baltimore last week and no rushing touchdown since Week 1, with Samaje Perine taking the goal-line work in Week 7. The saving grace is the receiving role, where Brown caught four of five targets in Week 7 and has seen 20 targets over the last three weeks. That gives him a floor in PPR scoring, which is why he fits as a mid-priced value in both cash and GPPs. Check out the live NFL odds to track how that line moves before kickoff.

Building Your Lineup

The most direct build starts with the Cowboys and Cardinals. Prescott and Lamb give you the highest-upside passing combination at a reasonable total salary, and McBride gives you the bring-back. Because Prescott costs only $6,300, you can afford Henry or another premium back without squeezing the rest of your roster too hard. Brown then fills the value running back slot and helps you spread exposure across three different games.

For tournaments, consider fading the chalk at running back and leaning into Henry’s low ownership while the market worries about his recent efficiency. The Florida games, Colts at Jaguars, Falcons at Buccaneers and Patriots at Dolphins, all have rain in the forecast, so be careful with exposure to passing offenses there. Lock in your Sunday NFL DFS picks once the inactives post, and good luck.
