Sunday Night Football brings a pair of struggling NFC East rivals together in Landover, Maryland, as the Philadelphia Eagles (2-5) visit the Washington Commanders (1-4-1) at Northwest Stadium. Kickoff is 8:20 PM ET on NBC and Peacock, and Washington is a 5.5-point home favorite with the total sitting at 40.5 points.
Both teams are leaning on their quarterbacks, and neither one has an easy path to a big night on the ground. That makes this a good game for quarterback passing props, which are some of the simplest bets on the board for newer bettors. Here are three quarterback bets worth a look, all based on lines available at the time of writing.
With Jalen Hurts on injured reserve, Tanner McKee (No. 16) is making his third start for Philadelphia. He has been steady if not spectacular, throwing for 215 yards and then 211 yards in his first two starts, including a 23-of-35 performance against Dallas on Monday night. The over/under on his passing yards is 197.5 at FanDuel, and he has cleared that number in both starts.
The matchup helps as well. Washington’s pass defense ranks 28th in the league, and Brock Purdy threw for 300 yards against it two weeks ago. The Eagles are also without DeVonta Smith, so McKee has been leaning on targets like Dallas Goedert and rookie Makai Lemon, who caught seven passes for 67 yards and a touchdown last week. Philadelphia is also an underdog, which tends to mean more throwing in the second half if they fall behind.
For beginners, a passing yards prop is simply a bet on whether the quarterback will finish over or under a set total. McKee only needs about 198 yards, and a 30-plus attempt game at his recent pace gets him there.
Jayden Daniels (No. 5) is coming off his best game of the season, a 29-of-40, 300-yard, two-touchdown performance against the 49ers in Week 6. Over the full season he has 759 passing yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions, while completing 64.7 percent of his passes. His average of 189.8 yards per game is a little below this line, so this bet is really about the matchup and the absence of his top weapon.
Terry McLaurin is out for the year, which pushes more volume to Stefon Diggs, who was a full participant in practice on Friday, and a group of younger receivers. The Eagles allow 239.9 passing yards per game, which ranks among the seven worst defenses in the league, and Philadelphia has only eight sacks on the season, so Daniels should have time to throw. The Commanders also pass on 55 percent of their plays.
The one caution is that Daniels finished above his passing yards prop only twice this year, and he also does plenty of damage with his legs. If Washington gets out front and leans on the run, he could fall short, but the matchup points toward a bigger passing day than his season average.
This is the higher-risk, higher-reward play. Daniels’ touchdown prop is 1.5 passing touchdowns at +122 on the over, which means a winning $100 bet would return $122 in profit. The under is -162. Daniels has thrown at least one touchdown pass in three of his four games this year and has thrown multiple touchdown passes twice, including two against Philadelphia in Week 1 and two more against San Francisco last time out.
Two touchdown passes is a high bar in a game with a 40.5-point total, so this is not a bet to make casually. Still, Philadelphia has allowed five different quarterbacks to throw at least two touchdown passes this season, and Daniels has attempted 22 passes in the red zone, which is nearly half of Washington’s red zone plays. If the Commanders get inside the 20, he is frequently the one making the decision.
New bettors should treat plus-money props like this one as a smaller piece of the card, since they lose more often than they win but pay more when they hit.

Two quarterbacks who each have a real reason to throw more than the market expects make for a clean slate of passing props. If you want to compare numbers across books before you bet, check the live NFL odds page, and always remember to bet responsibly. Here are the three plays:
Lines move through the weekend, so check your book before placing any of these. The yardage bets are the safer pair, while the touchdown prop is the one with the most upside.
