Bam Adebayo headlines our Underdog Fantasy NBA card for Friday.
The Boston Celtics will look to even up the series against the Miami Heat on Friday night. Boston is currently a 9.5-point favorite, and the total is 215. Will the Celtics be able to ratchet up the defensive intensity and contain Jimmy Butler?
Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals should be off the hook! Here are 3 Underdog Fantasy NBA Props for Friday, May 19. Good luck with all of your action, and have a fantastic weekend.
Vincent is a nice player for the Heat, but this number is shaded a little too high. The former UC-Santa Barbara standout averaged a combined 11.9 points and assists during the regular season. Vincent has stayed under this total in 4 out of his last 5 ball games, which is enough for us to target the Under.
The matchup should be pretty tough on Vincent tonight. Boston will be in desperation mode after dropping Game 1 at home, and they’ll be fired up on the defensive end of the floor. Boston ranks 4th in points allowed and 2nd in assists allowed.
Two prominent sportsbooks are also favoring the Under with this prop. FanDuel is juicing the Under at -152, while DraftKings is at -135.
We hate fading a salty old dog like Al Horford, but he hasn’t been contributing much on the offensive end for Boston lately. The former Florida Gator has stayed under this point total in 4 out of his last 5 games. Horford is only averaging 6.6 points per game during the playoffs.
Looking at Horford’s matchup against the Heat, we can see that it won’t be easy. Bam Adebayo is an intimidating defender, and he’ll be guarding Horford in this game. Miami ranks 2nd in the league in paint points allowed.
Horford will probably do okay in the rebounding department, but we don’t see him busting loose for a huge scoring game. Let’s take the Under!
FanDuel and PointsBet have this priced at 18.5, making us think there’s value on the Over. Boston defends the paint pretty well, but Adebayo is in great current form. If Boston tries to double-team Jimmy Butler, Adebayo may get some one-on-one opportunities down low.
The former Kentucky Wildcat has gone over this point total in 3 of his last 4 ball games. The only time Adebayo didn’t go over this number, he tied it by scoring exactly 18. During the regular season, Adebayo averaged 20.4 points per game.
Through 75 regular season games, Adebayo finished with at least 18 points in 51 of them. That’s enough for us to pull the trigger on the Over!
