Buccaneers vs. Falcons: Odds, Predictions, and Best Bet for Thursday Night Football

Week 5 of the NFL season kicks off with the Buccaneers taking on the Falcons on Thursday Night Football. Tampa Bay is riding high after their upset win over Philly! Atlanta was outplayed by New Orleans but still found a way to come away with a victory at home last week.

Let’s go over the odds and predictions before delivering a best bet. Enjoy the game and best of luck with all of your action! Let’s get into it.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers +1.5 vs Atlanta Falcons

The Atlanta Falcons face the 3-1 Tampa Bay Bucs Thursday night in an NFC South showdown.  Atlanta Is coming off an enormous 26-24 win over their rivals, the New Orleans Saints. The game feature 6 ties or lead changes, it ended with a Younghoe Koo game-winning 58-yard field goal.

The Falcons relied on forcing turnovers to make up for their lack of conversions on 3rd down and just 88 yards rushing. Tyler Allgeier led the team with 60 yards on the ground while Bijan Robinson combined for 74 total yards.

Tampa Bay decimated a weak Philadelphia team last week that was without their top 2 receivers. The Bucs defense keyed on Saquon Barkley and held him to just 25 yards rushing before he busted a 59 yarder.

Baker Mayfield was clicking with all his receivers and finished with 347 passing yards while completing just under 64% of his passes. Bucky Irving and Rachaad White each compiled 49 rushing yards on 10 carries each.

Best Bet: Bucs +1.5

We like the road underdogs in this one. Atlanta is coming off a highly emotional win over the Saints last week and now have a short week to prepare for a TB offense that has been tough to keep under control.

We believe Baker and company will be able to have success and be the difference in this divisional matchup. Chris Godwin had his 1st game without a touchdown reception last week, look for him to get back on the TD train in this one.

Key Trends:

TB is 9-2 ATS in their last 11 games on the road.
TB is 6-1 ATS in their last 7 games when playing as the underdog.
Atlanta is 5-15 ATS in their last 20 games.
Atlanta is 2-10 ATS in their last 12 games when playing as the favorite.
