Best Player Prop Bets for CFB Week 9
We took a break from college picks last week, but we are back and better than ever! This week’s slate features several marquee games, including three matchups between two ranked teams.
College Gameday is at the Oregon-Utah game this week, our favorite contest on the entire slate. We’ve included our favorite player prop from that game, along with our other two favorites, which can all be found on Underdog. Let’s get after it!
Bo Nix OVER 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Okay, am I missing something here? Bo Nix has been one of the best quarterbacks in the country this year, giving his draft stock a significant boost. This line feels incredibly low for a quarterback who has thrown for 2+ touchdowns in every game this year.
Oregon’s lone loss this season was to Washington, a game in which Nix gave his all. This week, Oregon faces off against Utah as mentioned earlier, which should provide a tough matchup given their dominant defense that allows less than 17 points per game.
While their defense is solid, Nix has just been that guy this season. We’re expecting him to crush his over of 1.5 passing touchdowns in the first half, in what we anticipate to be a big game from Oregon.
They still have a small chance to make it into the College Football Playoff, so from here on out, each game is critical. Can Nix rise to the challenge?
Caleb Williams OVER 2.5 Passing Touchdowns
Caleb Williams has not looked like himself lately. After starting the year on fire, Williams has back-to-back dud performances, including a recent loss to Utah where he did not throw any touchdown passes.
While this has caused some to question his abilities moving forward, we are giving Williams another chance knowing his track record.
This week, USC takes on Cal, an unranked opponent. This could be a great week for Williams to get back on track hoping to silence his doubters.
Williams has a six-touchdown game this year and has thrown for three or more touchdowns in five total games. He should have no problem smashing the over on this line of 2.5 passing touchdowns, making this a (hopefully) sweat-free cash!
Braelon Allen OVER .5 Rushing/Receiving Touchdowns
Death, taxes, and Braelon Allen scoring a touchdown seem to be three things in life that are guaranteed. Okay, maybe just the first two are guaranteed, but Allen scoring a touchdown has become pretty automatic.
The Wisconsin Badgers have not been the team that many thought they would be, resulting in a less-than-ideal standing on the season. However, Allen continues to be a bright spot for this team that has an otherwise lackluster offense.
Whether it’ll be him scoring a touchdown from the red zone or breaking off for a long run, we’re confident that Allen will score against Ohio State this week.
