Best NFL Player Props for the Sunday Wildcard Games: Load Up Some Overs!

After 18 weeks, the NFL’s field of Super Bowl contenders has been set. Wild Card games on Sunday showcase six of the best teams and athletes in the league, giving bettors an opportunity to secure more wins before football’s hiatus begins.

Which player prop wagers should bettors pay attention to Sunday? We’ll reveal our list of the top five player prop bets for Sunday’s Wild Card games below.

Josh Allen UNDER 207.5 Passing Yards (BetMGM)

After a mediocre start to the season, Buffalo’s offense had a torrid pace to finish the season. The Bills – who finished fourth overall offensively this season – can thank QB Josh Allen for the strong performance down the stretch as he combined his feet and arm to power the offense.

Pittsburgh ranks among the league’s worst defenses against the run, yielding more than 115 yards per outing. The Bills – thanks to Allen – have rushed for more than 130 yards per game.

With a cold, windy forecast for Sunday’s game, expect Buffalo to stick with the ground game and for Allen to throw for less than 215 yards.

CeeDee Lamb OVER 98.5 Receiving Yards (DraftKings)

No player has been hotter than Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb to end the season. The NFL’s leader in receptions (135 total) averaged nine catches per game over his team’s last 10 contests worth 116 receiving yards per game, too. He’s scored in all but two of those contests, accounting for all but one of his 12 TDs this season.

While the Packers rank among the top 10 defending the pass against WRs this season, Green Bay is vulnerable to potent passing attacks. Against the Lions, Buccaneers and Panthers, WRs earned more than 200 yards in each of those games.

Expect QB Dak Prescott to target CeeDee Lamb early and often in this home contest for Lamb to easily cover this player prop bet.

Jahmyr Gibbs OVER 19.5 Receiving Yards (FanDuel)

Detroit rookie RB Jahmyr Gibbs has made a name for himself in his debut year. Gibbs finished the regular season with 945 rushing yards on 182 carries and 10 rushing TDs, and the first-round pick secured 52 catches for 316 yards and another score.

The Lions host Los Angeles in Sunday’s night cap of the Wild Card slate of games. The Rams have allowed RBs to earn 20 or more yards receiving in nine straight contests, showing Los Angeles is vulnerable to RB receptions.

Expect Detroit to use Gibbs’ services through the air this week and cover this player prop bet.

QB Matthew Stafford OVER 272.5 Passing Yards (FanDuel)

Despite missing two games in 2023, Los Angeles QB Matthew Stafford finished 11th in the league with 3,965 passing yards this season and with 24 throwing TDs. His 63.7 QBR was sixth in the league, showing Stafford still has what it takes to be a top-tier QB for the Rams in his 15th season.

The Lions defense has allowed QBs the third-most passing yards this season, yielding 269 yards per outing to opponents. In their past three games, Detroit has surrendered 1,152 yards through the air, an average of 384 passing yards per contest.

Expect Stafford and the Rams to take advantage of the Lions’ porous passing defense to cover this player prop bet.

Pat Freiermuth OVER 19.5 Receiving Yards (FanDuel)

In an injury-shortened season, Pittsburgh TE Pat Freiermuth has struggled to find his role in the Steelers’ offense. In 12 games this year, Freiermuth has 308 receiving yards on 32 receptions, netting just over 9.6 yards per catch.

Beyond a breakout performance against Cincinnati earlier this year, Freiermuth has been a forgotten piece of the Pittsburgh offensive scheme. Further, Buffalo ranks among the top 10 defenses against TEs this season, yielding 44.53 yards per outing to this position.

In their last five games, however, every opponent has thrown to their TEs for over 40 yards, giving Pittsburgh hope Freiermuth will expose this defense. Expect the Steelers to work Freiermuth heavily into their game plan and cover this prop bet.
