Cincinnati Bengals vs Los Angeles Chargers

The 4-6 Bengals head to the road to take on the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday Night Football. The Bengals are likely the best 4-6 team in quite a while. They are coming off a brutal 35-34 loss on the road to Baltimore last Thursday Night. In a back-and-forth game, the Bengals scored with just 42 seconds remaining to cut the lead to 35-34 and decided to try for the win on a two-point conversion.

The attempt failed when Burrow tried to hit tight-end Tanner Hudson. Joe Burrow was incredible in the loss and if it was not for their record, he would be in the MVP conversation. He finished with over 435 yards passing and 4 touchdowns while throwing no interceptions. His top target, Ja’Marr Chase caught 11 balls on 17 targets for 264 yards and 3 touchdowns.

The Chargers are 6-3 and currently on a 3-game winning streak. After defeating New Orleans and Cleveland by a total of 53-25, they handled business last week against the Tennessee Titans. After leading 13-7 at the half, they extended the lead to 27-10 with just under 8 minutes to go in the game.

A late Titans score cut the lead to 10, but it was already out of reach as the Chargers won the game 27-17. The run game was strong for the Chargers as they finished with 145 yards on the ground. They were able to hold Will Levis and the passing game of the Titans to just 157 yards through the air.

Best Bet: Bengals +1.5

This is a must-win game for the Bengals. They cannot afford to move to 4-7 on the season if they are to have any hope of making the playoffs. The task will not be easy, as the Chargers are the #1 defense in the league, allowing just 13.1ppg.

They have not faced the toughest offenses over their last 5 games. Cincinnati should be able to score on them and get over 17 points, which has seemingly been the way to defeat these Chargers.

Key Trends for Bengals at Chargers:

  • Cincinnati is 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games when playing as the underdog.
  • Cincinnati is 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games.
  • Los Angeles is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games when playing at home against Cincinnati.
  • Los Angeles is 3-9 ATS in their last 12 games played in week 11.
