Getting paid to bet an over on a pitcher performing the way Rasmussen has been is the kind of spot that shouldn’t last once the market catches up.
Rasmussen has racked up 98 strikeouts in 99.1 innings this season to go with a sharp 3.26 ERA, numbers that put him firmly in mid-rotation ace territory for Tampa Bay. A strikeout-per-inning pace over a nearly 100-inning sample is not a small-sample fluke — that’s a full season of swing-and-miss stuff holding up. Needing under five strikeouts to cash this at plus odds, against a Blue Jays lineup he’s set to face on the road, is exactly the kind of mispriced number that makes props worth shopping around for.
