3 MLB Strikeout Props to Back on October 24: World Series Game 2

World Series Game 2 is the only game on the board Saturday night, and it is a good one for pitcher props. The Milwaukee Brewers lead the series 1-0 after a 3-2 Game 1 win, and the Tampa Bay Rays send Drew Rasmussen to the mound at American Family Field (8:00 PM ET, FOX) against Brewers rookie Logan Henderson. Both are right-handers, and both carry a WHIP below 1.00 into the game.

When there is only one game, the props market gets very sharp, so we are focusing on spots where the numbers back up the price. Below are three pitcher props with the reasoning laid out step by step, so you can see why each line looks beatable. Lines move, so always check your book before you bet.

Drew Rasmussen 6+ Strikeouts (Over 5.5)

Rasmussen was an ace this year by any measure: 16-5 with a 2.67 ERA, a 0.91 WHIP and 174 strikeouts in 172 innings. That is roughly a strikeout per inning, which matters because the over 5.5 line is really asking one simple question: can he get to six? In this postseason, he always has. He has recorded at least six strikeouts in all four of his playoff starts, including double-digit performances in two of them, and he is 3-1 with just four earned runs allowed in 27.2 playoff innings.

The rest also helps. Tampa Bay held him back from Game 1 so he could pitch on extra rest, and the Rays are 14-1 in his 15 starts since the All-Star break. A rested starter in that kind of form is more likely to be left in deep into the fifth and sixth innings, which is where strikeout props are won. The price reflects that confidence, with 6+ strikeouts at -132 on DraftKings and the over 5.5 at -134 on ESPN. You are paying a premium, but it is a fair one for a pitcher who has cleared the number in every October start.

There is also a fun storyline: Milwaukee drafted Rasmussen in 2018 and traded him to Tampa Bay in 2021, so this organization knows him well. Familiarity can help hitters make contact, but a pitcher with this much swing-and-miss still has the edge in the strikeout column.

Logan Henderson Over 4.5 Strikeouts

Henderson’s numbers look a lot like Rasmussen’s in a smaller package: 11-3, a 2.47 ERA, a 0.84 WHIP and 110 strikeouts in 98.1 innings. That is better than a strikeout per inning too, and he averaged 5.8 strikeouts per start this season, comfortably above a 4.5 line. Over his last 10 starts, he averaged 5.4, so the floor is higher than the number suggests.

The over 4.5 has been posted around -120 at some books and as short as -155 at others, so shop around before you click. Part of the appeal is that he has allowed just three runs in nine postseason innings, and the Brewers have won 16 of the 20 games he has started this year, including the playoffs. He is also facing a Rays lineup he has never seen before, which usually helps a pitcher with swing-and-miss stuff get ahead in counts early.

The risk is the short leash. The Dodgers got him out of NLCS Game 2 before the end of the fifth inning, so a quick hook is the main way this loses. But with a 4.5 line, five strikeouts through four-plus innings is a realistic target.

Logan Henderson Outs Recorded Over 14.5

Outs recorded is one of the most underrated markets in baseball, and it pairs nicely with the strikeout prop. A line of 14.5 means Henderson needs to get 15 outs, or five full innings. DraftKings has the over at -153 and FanDuel is almost identical at -152, so both books agree on the price.

The case for the over is his efficiency. A 0.84 WHIP means he rarely puts runners on, and low-traffic innings are short innings. Fewer pitches per frame means he can stay in the game longer, and a manager in a tight World Series game is more likely to ride a starter who is cruising than to pull one who is getting into trouble. Projections land around 15.9 outs for him, which clears 14.5 with a little room to spare.

It is worth comparing the live MLB odds across books, because even a few cents of difference matters on a heavy-juice play like this one. The main danger is the same as with his strikeouts: an early exit. That is why we like pairing the two, since a strong, efficient start usually cashes both.

Lock These In for Game 2

All three picks come down to the same idea: two pitchers with elite strikeout rates and very little traffic on the bases, in a game where every inning matters. Rasmussen has cleared six strikeouts in every playoff start, while Henderson’s efficiency gives him a real shot at both the strikeout and the outs prop. If you are new to props, this is a friendly way to start since you do not need to pick a winner, only how one pitcher performs.

  • Drew Rasmussen OVER 5.5 strikeouts (6+ at -132 DraftKings; over 5.5 at -134 ESPN)
  • Logan Henderson OVER 4.5 strikeouts (check your book for the current price)
  • Logan Henderson OVER 14.5 outs recorded (-153 DraftKings)
