2 Underdog Fantasy NBA Props for Tuesday, May 9

Hello Rookie

It’s NBA Playoffs time again! And I am more than thrilled to share with you my player props for Tuesday, May 9, 2023. This season, there have been some jaw-dropping performances from players that we did not expect to shine as brightly.

Tonight’s playoff card is guaranteed to be a good one. The 76ers head to Boston to take on the Celtics in Game 5 of that series. The Suns will square off against the Nuggets in the late nightcap, which is also a pivotal Game 5. It’ll be interesting to see which two teams take control in their respective quests to make the Finals.

Today, I have two exciting Underdog Fantasy picks for you that could bring you some serious moolah. We’ve scrutinized the stats and trends to select two players that I believe have great potential for tonight’s playoff games. Let’s cash these tickets!

Al Horford UNDER 6.5 Rebounds

As an underdog bettor, you may sometimes need to dig deeper to find valuable picks. It isn’t always about the big names. This is where Al Horford comes into play. He has been a solid performer throughout his career for the Boston Celtics, but we’re thinking he goes under this rebounding total.

Horford’s rebounding numbers have been trending upward in the playoffs, but we think he will come back to earth a bit tonight. In his previous 7 games against the Sixers, he has averaged 6.3 rebounds per game, which is a tad lower than this number.

One may argue that Horford could have a big day on the boards, but it’s unlikely. Additionally, the Celtics are facing Philly, who ranks 2nd in the league in rebounds allowed per game. That’s probably why Unibet is juicing the Under at -152.

Jamal Murray OVER 2.5 Made Three-Pointers

Jamal Murray is on fire going into this game. As a Canadian point guard, he’s been unstoppable, scoring 28 points in their last game, though he only made 1 shot from downtown. However, he did knock down 6 three-pointers in Game 1 against the Suns. Murray has previously proven himself as a force of nature, utilizing his dribble drives and accurate outside shooting to lead his team to an impressive playoff run.

The Suns, on the other hand, only rank 10th at defending three-pointers and opponent shooting efficiency. They’ll have their work cut out for them as they try to contain Murray and this Denver squad.

With the team likely to rely on their initial efforts from Nikola Jokic, Michael Porter, and Aaron Gordon, Murray may come alive in the second half of the game and start draining threes one after another. The line of only 2.5 is something to consider as we look at this prop.

Even under bettors might find it hard to resist taking the OVER, especially when taking into account the team’s tendencies and Jamal’s undeniably impressive form of late. We also love that Murray is hitting 41.3% of his three-point shots when on his home floor in Denver. Take the Over!
