Top Four NBA Player Prop Bets For Wednesday, Jan 22

Top Four NBA Player Prop Bets For Wednesday, Jan 22

We’re less than three weeks away from the NBA All-Star break, and most NBA teams have surpassed the midway point for their season. The best team in both conferences is starting to pull away from their competition as the Oklahoma City Thunder have a seven-game lead over their Western foes while Cleveland has a 6.5-game lead over the rest of the Eastern squads.

Both of those conference-leading teams are in action tonight. Can Cleveland beat the second-seeded Houston Rockets on the road tonight? We’ll cover that and our four best NBA player props below.

Dallas Mavericks PG Kyrie Irving OVER 26.5 Points

The Dallas Mavericks have been without star Luka Doncic’s services for nearly a month now, and the team has struggled since his absence. Dallas has won only four games over that period, experiencing two losing streaks of at least three games since his injury.

Guard Kyrie Irving has been a key contributor when available, having posted more than 25 points in the six games he’s played. Irving enters fresh off back-to-back games with at least 25 points, and he’s slated to play on Wednesday. Expect the Mavericks to lose while Irving scores at least 27 points in tonight’s contest.

Cleveland Cavaliers SG Donovan Mitchell OVER 3.5 3-Pt Field Goals

The Cleveland Cavaliers have been dominant this season, jumping to a 36-6 record thus far. Cleveland has relied on the strong offensive effort of shooting guard Donovan Mitchell to achieve their fast start. Mitchell scores 23.3 points per game and dishes out 4.5 assists each night.

Over the past two games, he’s poured in more than 33 points each night as he’s hit at least four three-point shots in each. That’s not been the norm this month. In fact, he went six straight games without hitting more than three trifectas in a single game.

Which player should bettors anticipate seeing on Wednesday night? The smart money is on going over the 3.5-mark for three-point field goals made. Houston’s defense has allowed 37.5 percent of those three-point field goals to be made in the past three games. Expect Cleveland to win a close contest with Mitchell sinking four or more treys.

Oklahoma City Thunder PG Shai Gilgeous-Alexander OVER 6.5 Assists

Oklahoma City is right behind the Cavaliers with a 35-7 record. One reason for their strong showing is guard Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, who is currently leading the league in scoring with 31.5 points per game and maintaining a top-20 position in assists, dishing out 6.1 each night.

There’s little reason to believe that SGA will not have a strong game tonight at home against the Utah Jazz. In their first matchup, he played 30 minutes and handed out seven assists, allowing others to get into the scoring column. Expect a similar effort on Wednesday as he leads his team to a win with at least seven assists.

Boston Celtics SF Jayson Tatum OVER 9.5 Rebounds

The Celtics are the second-best team in the Eastern Conference, owning a 30-13 record as they look to defend their NBA Championship. Tonight, they’ll face a tough test against the Los Angeles Clippers, a team currently ranked fifth in the Western Conference.

Boston continues to lean on All-NBA small forward Jayson Tatum as he’s averaging 27.5 points and 9.3 rebounds per night. In an earlier lop-sided victory over the Clippers, he finished the night with just over two quarters of action, grabbing nine rebounds in his limited playing time.

Expect his team to post another win over the Clippers – albeit much closer than the first matchup – as he finishes the night with another double-double and covers this player prop bet tonight.
