NBA Friday Betting Preview: 3 Player Props and Predictions for February 7
Are the waters finally calm in Miami? The Heat are 25-24 on the year and as of late, have found something special in third-year pro Nikola Jovic.
Look for him to carve Brooklyn apart tonight with his hot stretch of 3-point shooting. Elsewhere, Dyson Daniels takes on a Milwaukee Bucks defense allowing a ton of points to the guard spots. With the highest over/under of the night, bet on the Aussie two-way star to hit his point total.
F Nikola Jovic (MIA) OVER 21.5 PRA
The Miami Heat are finally drama-less with the departure of Jimmy Butler to Golden State. Looking at who will step up in his absence, how about the budding 3rd-year Serbian forward Nikola Jovic.
Jovic is playing the best basketball of his young career and Spo is trusting him with heavy minutes. Over his last three games, Nikola has played 32 MPG while averaging 19 PPG on 61% from downtown.
Yes, 61% from downtown. With an incredible touch on his shot, this second-half of the season could belong to Jovic, who has hit 22 PRA or more in five of his last six.
G DeAaron Fox (SAS) OVER 22.5 Points
After winning their first game together in dramatic fashion, DeAaron Fox and the Spurs have a chance to make some noise before the All-Star break. San Antonio has Charlotte tonight, before facing Orlando, Washington, and Boston to wrap things up in the first part of the season.
If they go 3-1 in these games, San Antonio will most likely be sitting in a play-in spot with incredible momentum. Fox dropped 24 and 13 against Atlanta in their one-point victory on Wednesday night.
Facing a Charlotte team that struggles to defend opposing guards and might have defensive troubles due to the new-look depth chart, Fox should be able to carve the Hornets apart tonight for another victory.
G Dyson Daniels (ATL) OVER 16.5 Points
Dyson Daniels is legit. Formerly discarded on the Pelicans, this new role for Daniels on Atlanta has completely reshaped his career trajectory (very cool). The calm and collected Aussie will dominate smaller guards on both ends of the floor.
Facing Damian Lillard tonight, this has the chance to become an extremely high scoring affair. Daniels has averaged 20.3 PPG over his last three and against Milwaukee who allows the most PPG to the point guard position, should be able to continue his hot offensive play.
Atlanta’s poor defense as of late should feed into this game nearing its total of 243 tonight – by far the highest O/U on the Friday slate.
