On the other side, Kansas City’s Salvador Perez gives this parlay some rooting interest for the home team, too. Perez has driven in 74 runs this season and remains one of the most dangerous middle-of-the-order threats in the Royals’ lineup even in a down offensive year overall (.228 average, 19 home runs). He’s the kind of hitter who can change a game with one swing, and betting him for at least one RBI is a straightforward way to add a power-driven leg without needing to predict an exact stat line.
Facing a Cleveland pitching staff that will lean on its bullpen once Williams departs, Perez gets multiple looks at pitching that isn’t part of the Guardians’ best relief mix, which only helps his chances of pushing a run across at some point in the game.
