Guardians vs Cubs Predictions: 3 Player Props for Wednesday, July 2

Happy Wednesday, baseball fans! We have an awesome slate of games today, which includes three doubleheaders. Doubleheaders are a dream for many baseball fans, as they can either go to the ballpark or sit in front of their TV and watch their favorite team twice in one day.

While we’re also excited about these doubleheaders, we’ve focused our attention on a different direction from a betting perspective. After studying Underdog’s board of player props, we’ve put together our favorite picks from the matchup between the Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago Cubs, hoping it doesn’t disappoint. Here are our top plays!

Tanner Bibee OVER 2.5 Earned Runs Allowed

The Cubs are one of the best teams in baseball, and their sheer amount of offense is a big reason why. All of their hitters can get hot at any given time, evidenced by their 12-run performance against the Houston Astros this weekend.

With that in mind, we think they’re going to jump all over Tanner Bibee from the first pitch, quickly getting him out of the game, but not before he gives up at least three runs. Bibee’s ERA is through the roof, a whopping 3.9 on the year, and the Cubs are too good not to prey on his weaknesses.

Pete Crow-Armstrong OVER 1.5 Total Bases

Pete Crow-Armstrong is killing righties this year, and considering our prediction of Bibee having an off night, it’s only right that we take the over on his TB total.

Crow-Armstrong is nearly batting .300 against right-handed pitchers this year, hitting 16 homers and logging 44 RBI. We almost bet on him to hit a homer today, but we’ll settle for the safety of two bases here, maybe sprinkling in a HR bet if we’re feeling extra lucky later.

Seiya Suzuki OVER 1.5 Hits, Runs & RBI

We’ll mostly rinse and repeat the analysis from Crow-Armstrong with Seiya Suzuki here, believing he’ll have a big game against Bibee. Suzuki didn’t start the year great, and only has a .258 batting average on the season as a result, but he’s starting to find a rhythm heading into the back half of the season.

He had a big game against the Astros this weekend, and if that momentum continues, there’s no reason why he won’t go over this line of 1.5 hits, runs, and RBI.
