Dodgers vs. Yankees Betting Preview: 3 Player Props and Predictions for Game 5

Happy Wednesday, sports fans! Much to the chagrin of Los Angeles Dodgers fans, their beloved team could not get the job done last night.

The New York Yankees dropped the hammer on them, finally tapping into that Bronx Bomber-style offense that many people were waiting for. This means that, at minimum, we have one more baseball game to watch this season, which is probably the best outcome from this situation. 

As we did for Game 4, we’ve put our favorite player props together from Underdog, hoping to sweep the board again tonight. We were a perfect 3 for 3 last night, so let’s find similar fortunes in Game 5 of this epic World Series!

Gerrit Cole UNDER 4.5 Hits Allowed 

Tonight is Gerrit Cole’s time to shine. He’s supposed to be the ace of this Yankees staff, and they need him now more than ever.

The Dodgers have gotten to the Yankees’ starting pitchers early in games all series, but Cole will work to stop them in their tracks in this pivotal Game 5. He only gave up four hits in six innings of work in Game 1, and we’re expecting a similar output from him tonight.

Look for Cole to hit the under on his hits allowed line. 

Freddie Freeman OVER .5 RBIs

We took this line yesterday, and we’re running it back today. Freddie Freeman is a man on a mission this series, and he can’t stop hitting homeruns.

We’ll probably take a flier on Freeman to hit a homerun in this game given his track record, but we’re more than confident that he’ll record at least one RBI.

He’s done so in every game this series, so it seems silly to bet against the hot hand in a game of this magnitude. 

Shohei Ohtani OVER 1.5 Total Bases

This game is yet another opportunity for the best hitter on the planet to showcase his skills on the national stage.

Ohtani is a shoo-in for NL MVP this year, and while he’s probably not going to win World Series MVP, his impact on the team cannot be understated.

Ohtani is a force to be reckoned with whenever he steps up to the plate, and as much as the Yankees might want to pitch around him, he’s inevitable. Look for him to achieve at least two total bases, if not closer to four or six in a herculean effort.
