Cowboys at Giants: Odds, Predictions, and Best Bet for Thursday Night Football

Week 4 of the NFL season kicks off with a clash between the Cowboys and the Giants. Check out our betting preview for the odds, predictions, and a best bet for Thursday Night Football. Good luck!

Dallas Cowboys vs New York Giants

The Dallas Cowboys have stumbled out of the gate this season and find themselves at just 1-2. After an opening easy 33-17 win over the Cleveland Browns, they were smacked 44-19 by the Saints. Last weekend, they welcomed the winless Baltimore Ravens into Dallas and were dominated until late in the game when Dak tried an unsuccessful comeback that finished 28-25.

While the Cowboys lead the league in passing (285.7ypg) it is mostly due to their failed comeback attempts late in the last 2 games. On the other side, their run game has been abysmal and is ranked 30th in the league. Without that balance, the Cowboys are doomed to continually fail in any close game this season.

The New York Giants are also 1-2 with their sole win coming over the same Cleveland Browns team that Dallas defeated. After losing bad to Minnesota in week one and blowing a 4th quarter lead to the Commanders, they finally got things right last week.

Daniel Jones looked good and most his success has been coming with the connection of his rookie weapon, Malik Nabers. Nabers caught 8 of his 12 targets which led to 78 yards and 2 touchdowns. The run game was solid as well, accumulating 112 yards on the ground.

Best Bet: Giants +5.5

In this divisional matchup, taking place at MetLife Stadium, the Giants are going to need to control the time of possession and make timely big plays to Nabers.

For Dallas, they need to establish a run game, and if they can, they will open things up for the all-pro receiver, CeeDee Lamb. He was seen on the sideline arguing with Dak last week and if they want to have any shot at the divisional title, they will need to get things right quick here in New York.

However, we do not expect that to happen. We are going to take the home dogs in this contest and while they may lose the game, the points should play a factor.

Key Trends:

  • Dallas is 2-6 ATS in their last 8 games.
  • New York is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games when playing as the underdog.
  • New York is 13-5 ATS in their last 18 games played in week 4.
  • New York is 7-3 ATS in their last 10 games.
