Best Player Prop Bets for CFB Week 3
College Football is off and running. Fans waited all offseason for a chance to root for their favorite schools, and now is the time for the rubber to meet the road. We’ve been treated to some fantastic games thus far, a trend we think will continue this week.
There are several games on the slate that should provide some electrifying performances. We’re going to dive into our three favorite props from Saturday’s action, which can all be found on Underdog.
Drake Maye OVER 254.5 Passing Yards
Drake Maye entered the 2023 NCAA Season with high expectations. Many believed he would compete for the Heisman Trophy given his standing as a top-tier quarterback. Maye is also said to be a first-round QB prospect, assuming he’s able to continue his expected production.
Through two weeks, Maye has led UNC to two straight wins, including a barn-burner against Appalachian State. He has thrown for 477 total yards in these games, adding in two touchdowns and two interceptions.
This week, Maye and UNC are taking on the Minnesota Gophers. While the Gophers are a solid team, their defense will likely meet its match this week.
We’re expecting Maye to pop this week, throwing for at least 255 yards. If he wants to stay atop the Heisman conversation, a big performance against the Gophers is a must.
Michael Penix UNDER 360.5 Passing Yards
Speaking of Heisman watch, Michael Penix has been on an absolute tear to begin the season. In his first two games, Penix has thrown for more than 800 total yards, putting up 400+ in each contest.
However, we don’t think he’s going to have quite as dominant of a performance this week. Michigan State is no slouch, and they are coming off a defensive masterclass. They allowed just 102 passing yards last week and will look to limit Penix as well.
We’re not expecting Penix to throw for less than 300 yards, but 360.5 is just too many against Michigan State. Look for Penix to get closer to 325 yards this week, which is why we’re hammering the under.
Travis Hunter OVER 72.5 Receiving Yards
Travis Hunter continues to capture national media attention. What he is doing on both sides of the ball for the Colorado Buffaloes is truly remarkable.
He’s quickly become one of Shaduer Sanders’ top targets, resulting in big games on offense. He has averaged 92 receiving yards in each of his first two games, and we’re expecting more of the same this week.
There might come a time to bet against Coach Prime’s offense, but this is not the week to take chances. We love Hunter’s receiving yards over this week.
