Game 3 of the World Series moves to Tropicana Field on Monday night, with the Milwaukee Brewers holding a 2-0 series lead over the Tampa Bay Rays. First pitch is at 8:00 p.m. ET on FOX. If you are new to betting, a same game parlay (SGP) is a great way to learn how prop bets work, because every leg comes from one game and you can follow the whole thing from start to finish.
Our beginner-friendly SGP for this one leans on the home team: the Rays to win, the game to go Over 6.5 runs, Junior Caminero to record 2+ total bases, and Yandy Diaz to get at least one hit. A DraftKings Sportsbook SGP card built around the Rays winning, a Caminero home run, a Diaz hit and a Freddy Peralta strikeout total was listed at +1200 ($10 pays $130), which gives you a feel for how fast the payout climbs when you stack legs. Always confirm the final combined price in your own sportsbook before you place anything.
Leg 1: Rays Moneyline (-120) to Stay Alive
A moneyline bet is the simplest wager in sports: pick the team that wins. Tampa Bay is a slight home favorite at -120 on FanDuel, meaning you risk $120 to win $100, while Milwaukee sits at +102. The Rays were 55-26 at home during the regular season, tied for the best home record in baseball, and they are 4-1 at Tropicana Field this postseason.
The pitching matchup helps too. Freddy Peralta is 2-0 with a 1.08 ERA and 12 strikeouts in the playoffs, and he has not allowed more than one run in any of his last nine starts. He also spent eight seasons with the Brewers, so he knows this lineup well. Milwaukee counters with left-hander Robert Gasser, who has a 1.00 postseason ERA but will be facing the Rays for the first time in his career. Tampa Bay’s right-handed bats slugged .442 against him this season, which is a real opening for a lineup that will probably lean right-handed.
Leg 2: Over 6.5 Total Runs
A total is a bet on the combined score of both teams, and it pairs naturally with a Rays win because a Tampa Bay victory often comes with a few runs on the board. FanDuel has the total at 6.5 runs, with the Over priced at -152 and the Under at +124. DraftKings has it at 7 runs.
Both World Series games so far have been tight, ending 3-2 and 5-4, and the Over cashed in Game 2 when the Brewers came back from a four-run first-inning hole. Milwaukee also has an Over record of 4-1 in its last five games. A 4-3 or 5-3 final gets this leg home.
Leg 3: Junior Caminero 2+ Total Bases
Total bases count a single as one, a double as two, a triple as three and a home run as four, so 2+ total bases means a double, a homer, or two singles. Caminero, the No. 13 on the Rays, hit 42 home runs this season and is the biggest bat in Tampa Bay’s lineup. Against left-handed pitching in the regular season, he posted a 152 wRC+ (100 is league average) with a .204 ISO, and he drove in a run in Game 2.
He is also one of four hitters DraftKings highlighted as a postseason total-base threat, along with Milwaukee’s William Contreras and Tampa Bay’s Yandy Diaz and Jonathan Aranda. Check your book for the current price on this leg, since player prop odds move through the day.
Leg 4: Yandy Diaz 1+ Hit
Our safest leg is a hit prop. Diaz is projected to hit at the top of the Rays’ lineup as the designated hitter against Gasser, which means plenty of plate appearances. A 1+ hit prop only needs one single over four or five trips to the plate, which makes it a good building block for the parlay. Diaz also appeared on DraftKings’ Rays card as part of its Rays-to-win SGP, so books clearly see this as a natural pairing with a Tampa Bay victory.

The Full Parlay
Put it together and you have a four-leg SGP: Rays moneyline (-120), Over 6.5 total runs (-152 at FanDuel), Junior Caminero 2+ total bases and Yandy Diaz 1+ hit. The legs support each other. If Tampa Bay wins at home, the Over is live, and Caminero and Diaz are the two bats most likely to drive it.
Remember that every leg has to hit for the parlay to cash, so keep the stake small and treat it as entertainment. If you only want to risk a little on a long shot, this is a great way to do it. Please bet responsibly, and check the responsible gambling page if you need support.
