Thunder vs Pacers Predictions: 3 Player Props for Game 4 (June 13)
The Indiana Pacers are two wins away from a championship because of Bennedict Mathurin’s career-defining Game 3 performance. After 27 points off the bench, can the silky-smooth wing do it again for an Indiana team that will need all hands-on deck to stop SGA by simply outscoring the Thunder as a unit?
After positive numbers and energy from Benn, Obi Toppin, and T.J. McConnell, expect this game to be won or lost by both bench units again.
Lu Dort (OKC) UNDER 8.5 Points
Lu Dort has been on a tear from beyond the arc over his last four games, shooting 14 of 27 from deep. With that being said, Oklahoma City is just 2-2 over that span, and with Dort’s other offensive liabilities, his 3-pointers haven’t swung momentum in the way that others have on the offensive side of the floor.
After a tough loss that again came down to the wire against Indianapolis, I’m expecting more Wallace, Caruso, Joe, and Wiggins minutes tonight as they simply need more scoring to keep up with the eventual Pacer run in the 2nd half.
In Game 3, Lu was -11 in the 4th quarter. In Game 2, he was -2, and in Game 1, -9. Something needs to change in the rotation in the 2nd half.
Bennedict Mathurin (IND) OVER 10.5 Points
The Montreal native reminded everyone why he was the 3rd leading scorer on the Pacers this season with the game of a lifetime. How about 27 points in 22 minutes on 12 shots for the do-it-all scorer who finished the game at +16 while earning to play 5 fourth quarter minutes where he scored 10 points in the period alone.
Mathruin gets to the free-throw line better than any other Indiana Pacer, and although he slows the game down at times for this high-powered offense, his transition passing and scoring lead me to believe Rick Carlisle will give him the green light once again in Game 4. The best part of all? Mathurin didn’t force a single thing in this breakthrough game.
Jalen Williams (OKC) UNDER 10.5 Rebounds & Assists
JDub found better control throughout this game, especially when SGA went to the bench and he had to command the offense. Williams scored 26 points on just 18 shot attempts but still was loose with the ball (4 turnovers).
Ultimately, 0 fourth quarter assists to 2 turnovers won’t cut it for the Thunder and JDub, who went -14 in the period in his full 12 minutes.
In this series, Williams has yet to hit this prop mark, and because he has made some errant decisions with the ball in his hands, the playmaking duties will be completely handed to Shai and Wallace moving forward as the Thunder try and climb out of this hole.
