5 Player Prop Picks for Friday Night’s NHL Slate

With 3 games on the schedule, it’s a quiet Friday night in the NHL, but there are still plenty of opportunities to find value in some of the hottest player prop bets

From MacKinnon to Boldy, we’ve found 5 of the best NHL prop bets for tonight. We think you’re going to love what we’ve found and you’ll want to load up your bet slip with some of these.

Player Team Bet Odds
Nathan MacKinnon Colorado Avalanche Over 1.5 Points +100
Auston Matthews Toronto Maple Leafs Over 0.5 Assists +110
Mika Zibanejad New York Rangers Over 0.5 Points -142
Matthew Boldy Minnesota Wild Over 0.5 Points -162
Wyatt Johnston Dallas Stars Over 0.5 Assists +130

Nathan MacKinnon Over 1.5 Points

  • Player Prop Odds: +100

MacKinnon has been absolutely dominant against the Minnesota Wild. He’s scored at least 1 goal in each of his last 4 matchups with them. He’s dialed in and knows how to lead the Avs offensive line.

He’s already averaging 1.5 points per game this season, so a bet on him getting at least 2 points makes the over at even money an attractive bet.

On top of that, Minnesota has struggled defensively. They’re ranking 31st in power-play percentage with 19.3% which means Colorado’s top line could feast. Given MacKinnon’s ability to produce both goals and assists, his hitting 2+ points is a solid play.

Auston Matthews Over 0.5 Assists

  • Player Prop Odds: +110

Matthews isn’t just an elite goal scorer — he’s been setting up his teammates consistently all season long. He’s recorded at least 1 assist in each of the Maple Leafs’ last 6 road games and it’s hard for us to see him slowing down tonight. On the season, he’s sitting at 27 Assists in 43 games.

Sure, the Rangers are one of the tougher defensive teams with a PK% of 82.4%, but Matthews has a thing for creating scoring chances no matter the opponent.

Getting this bet at plus money is some serious value for a player who’s been consistently dishing out helpers.

Mika Zibanejad Over 0.5 Points

  • Player Prop Odds: -142

Zibanejad has been a steady contributor for the Rangers as of late. With 11 points in February alone, he’s recorded at least 1 point in 7 of their last 8 games. He’s found his groove and he’s making his ice time count.

Toronto allows an average of 2.98 goals per game, and with the Rangers’ power play clicking with Zibanejad on the power play unit, he should have plenty of opportunities to get on the scoresheet.

The odds aren’t huge and you might be able to find better odds, but with his consistency getting something on the sheet, this is a smart bet all day long.

Matthew Boldy Over 0.5 Points

  • Player Prop Odds: -162

Even though he doesn’t get the attention some of the other players on the Wild get, Boldy has been one of Minnesota’s most consistent offensive players. He’s notched at least 1 point in each of the Wild’s last 4 games.

Given that the Avs rank 16th in goals against per game at 3.1, we think Minnesota should have plenty of chances to score.

Boldy is one of the biggest pieces of their offense, and taking a look at his recent form it appears he’ll continue producing.

Wyatt Johnston Over 0.5 Assists

  • Player Prop Odds: +130

Johnston has been on fire and he’s not slowing down. He’s racked up an assist in each of the Stars’ last 4 games and these weren’t easy teams, either.

Tonight, Dallas faces an LA Kings team that is strong defensively but has shown some vulnerabilities against playmakers in the slot. With Johnston’s ability to set up his teammates and the plus-money odds, we think this a great value bet.

Get Your Bets Ready for these NHL Player Props

Tonight’s NHL slate offers some strong betting opportunities. With a mix of plus-money plays and even safer picks, there’s no shortage of prop picks for you to make tonight.

MacKinnon’s points prop at +100 is easily the best value of the slate, while plays like Matthews’ assist and Johnston’s assist bring some strong upside as well. Lock in these picks, enjoy the action, and take that check to the bank!
