4 NBA Player Props for Friday, March 8: Will the Sixers Hold Down Herbert Jones?

4 NBA Player Props for Friday, March 8

Happy Friday, everyone! If you tailed our NBA picks yesterday, you were in luck! We went 4/4 on our plays, including a massive hit from our read on Anthony Edwards.

While we’re excited about yesterday’s sweep, today is a new day, and we will not rest on our laurels. After studying the board, we have come up with our four favorite plays, which can all be found on Underdog. Let’s cook the books and put together another sweep tonight!

Herbert Jones UNDER 11.5 Points

Herbert Jones has been on an unbelievable run for the New Orleans Pelicans. While he only averages 12.5 points per game on the season, he has scored 12+ points in six of his past seven games.

One might stick with the hot hand tonight, but we are fading Jones, especially since he and the Pelicans are taking on the Philadelphia 76ers. The 76ers have always been a challenging matchup for Jones, who has only scored over 12 points in one of his career games against him.

For this reason, we are out on him and are taking the under on this line of 11.5 points.

Jalen Brunson OVER 8.5 First Quarter Points

This has been one of our favorite bets all season. Jalen Brunson tends to get off to hot starts, and while he faces a tough matchup with the Orlando Magic tonight, he should have at least 10 points in the first quarter.

The New York Knicks are a better team when Brunson is on the floor, and we expect him to be a big part of their game plan tonight.

Dejounte Murray UNDER 15 Rebounds & Assists

Dejounte Murray has been an assist machine all season, especially without Trae Young on the floor, and his rebounding numbers are fantastic for a guard. With that in mind, this RA number is too high against the Memphis Grizzlies, a team he has historically struggled against.

He has only achieved 15 RA in three of his past ten games against them, indicating how tonight could go. While Murray has been great lately, we’re fading his RA total.

Anfrenee Simons UNDER 27.5 Points

We don’t typically like rooting for unders, but three of our four picks ended up being unders tonight. A big reason for this, at least in the case of Anfernee Simons, is his high-point total.

Underdog has his line set at 27.5 points, and while he has eclipsed that in his past three games, we don’t anticipate that his luck will continue against the Houston Rockets. Even though the Rockets are an abysmal team, Simons has shot 50% or better in his past two games, and just over 43% in the game prior.

We’re anticipating him to shoot closer to 40% than 50% tonight, resulting in a lower-scoring effort.
