4 Best NBA Player Props for Wednesday, December 4: Cunningham Poised to Dish Out Assists
With nearly a quarter of the NBA’s games for the 2024-2025 season in the books, the balance of power is clear between the Eastern and Western Conference. In the East, only the top five teams have a .500 or better record while 11 teams can make that claim in the West.
Wednesday’s NBA slate has a heavy Eastern slant as nine out of the 12 teams competing tonight hail from that conference. What can bettors expect in Wednesday’s games? We’ll cover that with our top four NBA player prop bets for tonight’s matchups.
Detroit Pistons PG Cade Cunningham OVER 6.5 Assists
The Detroit Pistons are watchable again! Since 2019, the Pistons have failed to win more than 23 games in a single season. This year, Detroit could win its 10th game in his first 24 tries, a significant improvement for this franchise.
Much of that has to do with point guard Cade Cunningham’s play coupled with a pair of 2022 lottery picks finally coming to life. Detroit’s first-round selection from that year – Jaden Ivey – is now scoring 18 points per outing while Jalen Duren – who was Charlotte’s first-round pick that June – is averaging nearly nine points and nine rebounds per game.
Cunningham’s outing against Milwaukee on Tuesday was the first time the point guard had not eclipsed six assists in the past nine games, and it ended a six-game streak with at least 10 or more assists. It’s hard to bet against a player on this kind of a tear, so take the over on this player prop bet.
Miami Heat C Bam Adebayo UNDER 10.5 Rebounds
In his seventh season, Miami center Bam Adebayo remains one of the league’s best undersized bigs. The 6-foot-9 athlete has 15.6 points, 9.8 rebounds, and 4.9 assists through 19 games this season.
Adebayo has recorded 10 or more rebounds in over half of his games played this season. He’s also recorded as many as 20 rebounds recently – Sunday’s loss to the Toronto Raptors. Still, expecting him to grab more than 10 rebounds against the taller Los Angeles Lakers’ lineup may be too high for this contest, and bettors should take the under on this player prop wager.
Atlanta Hawks PG Trae Young UNDER 2.5 Made 3-Point Field Goals
Despite dealing with Achilles tendinitis, Atlanta star Trae Young is expected to play when his team faces off against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday. Both teams are second in their respective divisions, needing a win to remain in that position.
Young has not made over two three-point field goals in seven of his last eight outings, eclipsing that total just once against the Cavaliers last week. Expect him to continue this trend, falling short of meeting this player prop bet tonight.
Minnesota Timberwolves SG Anthony Edwards OVER 25.5 Points
We’ll show a little love to the Western Conference in our final pick. After losing four straight games, the Minnesota Timberwolves have climbed back to .500 thanks to their two-game win streak. Star guard Anthony Edwards has contributed only 28 combined points to those two wins.
This is the second time the T’wolves have faced the Los Angeles Clippers with the first tilt coming last week. Los Angeles limited him to just 21 points in the first outing, but Edwards has been scoring above 28 points in his road contests this season. Expect him to score at least 26 tonight to lead Minnesota to a third consecutive win.
