3 Underdog Fantasy NFL Props for Sunday, September 17

Week 2 of the NFL Season is officially here! We’re going to try our hardest to not overreact to some Week 1 performances, but it’s hard not to, especially when looking at player props.

Thankfully for us, Underdog has some awesome lines this week, and we’re looking forward to attacking this Sunday slate with confidence. Let’s tackle our favorite player props of the week, hoping for another sweep!

Calvin Ridley OVER 72.5 Receiving Yards

I’m pleased to say that Calvin Ridley is officially back! He was the clear number-one target in the Jacksonville offense, a trend we expect to continue moving forward. Trevor Lawrence looked incredible as a passer, and he might just vault himself into the MVP conversation if he keeps this up.

Ridley greatly outpaced his receiving yardage line in Week 1, gaining 101 total yards on eight catches. We love his chances to hit at least 73 yards this week, especially since he’s facing off against the Kansas City Chiefs defense.

The Chiefs allowed two receivers to have more than 70 yards last week, one of which was Josh Reynolds.
Ridley is a much better pass-catcher than Reynolds, and we believe he’ll continue his dominance against a lackluster Kansas City secondary.

Geno Smith UNDER 239.5 Passing Yards

Alexa, what is a nice way to say Geno Smith stunk in Week 1? While we wait for that response, it’s tough for us to look positively toward Smith as he heads into Detroit.

The Lions’ defensive line looks scary and is coming off a performance that made the Kansas City O-Line look like Swiss cheese. Smith was one of the league’s best passers in 2022 but looked like a shell of himself in the Seahawks’ Week 1 performance.

While we don’t expect him to play as poorly as he did last week, we project that Smith will hit the under, throwing for less than 239.5 passing yards.

Anthony Richardson OVER 195.5 Passing Yards

Is Anthony Richardson a good passer? Honestly, no one is sure. Coming into his Week 1 debut, many pundits believed Richardson wouldn’t be able to hold up with the demands of an NFL game.

However, he looked poised in the pocket, stepping up to make throws when the Colts needed him the most. If for nothing else, we think Richardson is a fun player who has a lot of potential moving forward.

Look for him to cement his place as the Colts’ starter this week against the Houston Texans, throwing for at least 196 yards.
