3 QB Passing Props to Back for Ravens vs. Falcons on SNF

Sunday Night Football rolls into Mercedes-Benz Stadium with a quarterback situation that’s flipped this entire matchup on its head. The Baltimore Ravens (3-1) are on the road without Lamar Jackson, who’s been ruled out with an ankle injury, which means Tyler Huntley gets the start against an Atlanta Falcons (2-2) team that’s been catching fire since Michael Penix Jr. took back the reins. Kickoff is set for 8:20 p.m. ET on NBC.

With Jackson sidelined, this game is shaping up as a true quarterback-prop showcase. Atlanta’s offense is rolling, Baltimore’s defense has real holes through the air, and Huntley brings a run-first wrinkle that opens up more than just a yardage total. Here are three passing-prop angles worth circling before Sunday night.

Michael Penix Jr. Over His Passing Yards Number

Penix has been nothing short of excellent since reclaiming the Falcons’ starting job, and the yardage market reflects it — books have Penix’s passing total sitting in the 212.5 to 219.5 range depending on the shop, with most hovering right around 217.5 at roughly -114 to -120 odds. Through four games this season, Penix has thrown for 479 yards (239.5 per game) while completing 73.3% of his passes (33 of 45) with two touchdowns against just one interception.

His most recent outing is exactly the kind of form bettors want to see walking into a number like this. Penix shredded the Saints for 223 yards on 75% completion with a touchdown in Atlanta’s 45-24 win. Zoom out to his career sample and the trend holds — Penix has cleared 213 passing yards in nine of his 16 career games, with a 202.3 yards-per-game career average that sits comfortably above tonight’s line.

The matchup only sweetens the pot. Baltimore’s pass defense has been one of the softer units in the league, and Atlanta has scored touchdowns in eight straight quarters dating back two games, with the offense putting up 35 and 45 points in that stretch. A finally-healthy, finally-trusted Penix facing a defense that’s been vulnerable through the air is about as clean a setup for the over as you’ll find on this week’s NFL odds board.

Tyler Huntley Over His Passing Yards Total

This is the wildcard of the week. With Jackson out, Huntley steps in for his 17th career regular-season start, and the yardage number has settled anywhere from 169.5 to 174.5 depending on the book, priced around -114. Last week in relief duty against the Titans, Huntley was efficient in a small sample — 8-of-9 passing (88.9%) for 63 yards plus 16 yards on the ground. The larger sample from his time as a starter last season shows 426 yards across five games (85.2 per game), though that includes some run-heavy, clock-killing situations.

The case for the over here isn’t about Huntley suddenly turning into a volume passer — it’s about the matchup. Atlanta’s defense has allowed 1,059 passing yards through four games, a number that stands out as a genuine weakness even though the Falcons have been stingy against the run (just 2.72 yards per carry allowed). Opposing passing games have gone off against this unit all year: Chris Olave went for 86 yards, George Pickens 82, CeeDee Lamb 112, and similar production has shown up across the board. A line in the high 160s to mid-170s looks beatable against a defense that keeps bleeding yards through the air, even with a backup under center.

Tyler Huntley Anytime Touchdown

This is the value play of the slate. Huntley is sitting at +475 on DraftKings for an anytime touchdown, which implies roughly a 17.4% chance — and that number undersells what Huntley brings as a dual-threat option in a run-leaning game plan. He flashed his legs again last week with 16 rushing yards on just four carries in relief, and last season as the full-time starter he piled up 151 rushing yards on 24 carries (30.2 rushing yards per game).

With Jackson out, Ravens offensive coordinator Declan Doyle has already shown he wants to lean on the ground game around Huntley — Baltimore ran at a -6.6% pass rate over expectation last week with Huntley at the helm, throwing on just 35.7% of plays. That kind of run-first philosophy, combined with Huntley’s track record of scoring both through the air and with his legs, gives him two paths to the end zone in a game script that should feature plenty of called quarterback runs near the goal line.

Final Word on Sunday Night’s QB Props

Atlanta’s offensive surge under Penix and Baltimore’s shakeup at quarterback both point toward value on the passing props for Sunday night. Here’s how the three bets shake out heading into kickoff.

  • Michael Penix Jr. OVER 217.5 Passing Yards (-114 to -120, check your book)
  • Tyler Huntley OVER 174.5 Passing Yards (-114, some books as low as 169.5)
  • Tyler Huntley Anytime Touchdown (+475 on DraftKings)

Penix is the safest of the three given his recent form and the matchup, while the Huntley touchdown prop offers real plus-money value for anyone willing to bet on a mobile backup getting goal-line work in a run-heavy game plan.
