3 PrizePicks MLB Props for 2023 All-Star Game

Hello everybody, and welcome to the All-Star Game! Tonight is a very special event, as we’ve officially reached the mid-point of the MLB season.

There are many stars and marquee players that will be put on full display, playing their hearts out in front of the entire nation. We’ve put together a list of our favorite bets from tonight’s game, all of which can be found on PrizePicks.

Zac Gallen OVER 15 Pitches Thrown

Zac Gallen has been one of the MLB’s best pitchers throughout the season. He finds himself in the midst of NL Cy Young talks, an impressive feat in his fifth MLB season.

Tonight, Gallen was given the nod to be the NL’s starting pitcher in his first-ever All-Star appearance. We’re anticipating some nerves out of Gallen, given that it is his first time on this national stage.

With that in mind, he is likely to throw a few more balls than usual, giving him a longer first inning. That’s why we’ve targeted the over on his total pitches thrown, as he’ll likely blow past this number in the first inning.

Shohei Ohtani OVER 0.5 Total Bases

If you don’t know who Shohei Ohtani is, at this point, we can’t help you. He’s continued to dominate the MLB in all facets of his game.

Not only is Ohtani a top pitcher in the league, but he’s also on pace to break Aaron Judge’s home run record that was set in the 2022 season. With that in mind, along with the sheer number of fans that’ll be in the building for the All-Star Game, we think Ohtani is going to have a monster performance.

We do understand that many players are given the opportunity to bat, which could limit Ohtani’s plate appearances. However, he’ll look to give the Seattle crowd something to cheer about, which is why we’ll be taking the over on his base total.

Mookie Betts UNDER 0.5 Total Bases

If you were able to watch last night’s Home Run Derby, you’ll recognize that Mookie Betts was struggling a bit. He didn’t look like himself and, as a result, severely underwhelmed in the derby.

We’re not sure if it’s the crisp Seattle air, but Betts’ swing looked off last night. With that in mind, we’re fading him in tonight’s contest, taking the under on his total bases.

Betts will look to get right after the All-Star break, but for now, we aren’t confident in his ability to garner a hit tonight.
