3 MLB Player Props for Thursday, June 27: Wheeler Should Dominate Miami
Who’s ready for the MLB All-Star Game? It’s about that time of year in the MLB season, as we have just a few more weeks to find out who will represent their teams at this momentous event. The season has been a blast to this point, and we’re excited to watch all of the action at ASG, and in the league throughout the back half of the season.
While we are waiting in anticipation for the upcoming festivities, there are still two weeks left of action until then. Seeing that there are nine games on the slate today, we’re excited to dive into Underdog’s player props and come up with our favorites from the day. Let’s get into it!
Zack Wheeler UNDER 5 Hits Allowed
Zack Wheeler has been one of the best pitchers in the MLB all year. He currently holds a 9-4 record, and with a WHIP of just .96, Wheeler finds himself as a top-10 pitcher in many metrics.
He is one of the major reasons for the Philadelphia Phillies’ great season and looks to carry his success into their game against the Miami Marlins today. The Marlins haven’t exactly been on a tear this year, and considering their recent struggles, there’s reason to believe Wheeler will have a fantastic performance in this game.
Look for him to shut down the Marlins hitters, allowing less than five hits throughout the game.
Michael Wacha OVER 5.5 Hits Allowed (1.1X Boost on Underdog!)
The Kansas City Royals have surprised a lot of people this season by being firmly in the Wild Card race. They have turned things around after a lackluster 2023 campaign, and are hoping to continue their run into the back half of the season.
While we might be confident in the Royals long-term, we cannot say the same about Michael Wacha, especially considering that he is pitching against the Cleveland Guardians today.
The Guardians are the best team in baseball, and we can see them getting to Wacha early, which is why we’re taking the over on his hits line today.
Royce Lewis OVER 1.5 Total Bases (1.1X Underdog Boost!)
Royce Lewis has been a breath of fresh air for the Minnesota Twins this year when healthy. He has missed a large portion of his young career due to injuries, but now that he’s healthy, he can contribute in a meaningful way.
He currently has a .311 batting average, and despite struggling to get a hit in his last three games, we like his odds of bouncing back in a big way, getting at least two total bases against the Arizona Diamondbacks today.
