Week 3 College Football – 4 Player Props With Value

The first two full weeks of college football have been exactly what fans needed after what felt like an extremely long offseason. It would have been hard to predict that teams like Texas A&M and Notre Dame would already have home losses on their schedule to Sun Belt teams, with the Irish already being dropped from the polls after starting the season ranked #5.

Teams like Michigan and USC find themselves in the top 10 after long stretches in the past decade of struggling. You’ll also find teams like Kentucky and Arkansas with top 10 numbers next to their names after convincing wins against conference opponents in Week 2.

Week 3 provides some exciting non-conference matchups with a lot of value to be found in the player props offered for these marquee games.

Miami travels to College Station to take on the reeling Aggies. 12th-ranked BYU hits the road to play a top 25 Oregon team. Big Ten programs Penn State and Michigan State will play road games in the SEC and Pac-12 to try and establish themselves as contenders in the eyes of the committee.

Here are 4 player props with value for Week 3 of college football. Best of luck with your bets!

Parker Washington (Penn State) Anytime TD (+260)

Washington entered the season as the projected top receiver in the Penn State offense before Mitchell Tinsley hit the field. The Western Kentucky transfer has caught more touchdowns than Washington through two games in 2022.

All that said, Washington still has the most rapport with quarterback Sean Clifford and is being offered at a great value to score against Auburn this week. Washington caught eight passes for 49 yards against the Tigers last season and we think he finds pay dirt in this one.

Michael Penix Jr (Washington) Passing Yards: UNDER 272.5

Michael Penix Jr. has thrown for 680+ yards in his first two starts as a Washington Husky. That is by all means a great start. On the other hand, he’s done so against Kent State and Portland State, and Kent State allowed more points per game than 120 other FBS teams last season.

This week, the Michigan State Spartans come to Seattle to provide a worthy opponent for both the Huskies and their new quarterback. Penix may be throwing early and often, but it’s hard to imagine he keeps up this level of production against a top Big Ten defense.

Jalen Berger (Michigan State) Rush TDs: OVER 0.5

Berger, the transfer running back from Wisconsin, has been off to a hot start this season with 227 rushing yards on 33 carries through two games. He’s also scored four touchdowns in his first two games in green.

The Spartans face their toughest test yet on the road against Washington. We expect the young back to get 15-20 carries and likely a few goal line opportunities mixed in, at least one of which he’ll cash in for a touchdown.

Brant Kuithe (Utah) Receiving Yards: OVER 38.5

Kuithe is the experienced, pass-catching tight end for the Utes who will likely finish his career in the top five in school history in catches, receiving yards, and receiving touchdowns. Kuithe caught seven balls for 58 yards in the Utes’ loss to the Aztecs in 2021 and should be able to repeat that performance with returning quarterback Cameron Rising.
