Main Event Play: Alex Pereira (-135)
Jiri Prochazka will look to avenge his only loss in his last 16 fights when he faces Alex Periera once again in this main event bout. For Pereira, he will look to avoid going 0-2 in rematches as he lost his rematch fight against Adesanya.
Pereira took care of business in his only fight since Jiri when he finished Jamahal Hill in the 1st round back in mid-April. Jiri handled his only fight since as well by finishing Aleksandar Rakic in the 2nd round on the same card. In the 1st fight, Jiri had Pereira pressed in the action for most of the fight. At times, he looked like he was getting the best of him in the exchanges.
However, he made a mistake in the 2nd and pressed with his hands down allowing for Pereira to land a counter shot that dropped him and then rained elbows on him until it was stopped. Some argued the stoppage was a bit early but Jiri did not seem to protest.
If Jiri can keep from advancing and pressing too much, he will have a good shot at winning this rematch. We just don’t believe he can change his style and with his stance being so open to jabs and strikes, we like Pereira to get the win here again.
Main Card Top Underdog Play: Michael Page (+130)
Ian Machado Garry faces Michael “Venom” Page in what could be the front-runner for the fight of the night. Both fighters have serious striking ability and can be extremely explosive.
Garry has had issues with falling behind early and/or allowing fights to go to decisions instead of picking up the finish. Page looked dominant in his UFC debut against Kevin Holland and we like him to frustrate Garry in this fight.
We like Page to get the win here and taking him by decision at +250 would be worth a value bet as well.
Main Card Bonus Underdog Play: Brian Ortega (+120)
Ortega faces a relatively newer UFC fighter in Diego Lopes who is 3-1 thus far in the UFC. After his decision loss in his debut to Evelov, Lopes has looked spectacular with 3 straight 1st round finishes.
However, none of those fighters are on the same level as Ortega. His only losses in his 19-fight career, have been to some of the best talent in the division. 2 of them came in title fights and the other was to Yair Rodriguez who he submitted in the rematch that followed.
Lopes has been exciting but we don’t think he is ready for this step up in talent and will not be able to handle the level that Ortega will bring to the octagon.
Other Leans for All Remaining Fights
Roman Dolidze (-135)
Macy Chiasson (-110)
Joe Pyfer (-290)
Cub Swanson (+200)
Jean Silva (-105)
