NFL Odds and Predictions for Week 5: Deebo is Back!
Throughout September, all 32 NFL teams participated each of the four weekends, giving fans 48 games to whet their appetite for professional football. Over the next two months, the NFL will give all 32 teams a week off, providing full weeks during that span just twice in 2024.
This week, the Detroit Lions, Los Angeles Chargers, Philadelphia Eagles, and Tennessee Titans will enjoy a week of rest before finishing up the regular season. With 14 games on tap for Week 5, here are the opening odds for those contests.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Atlanta Falcons (-1.5) Thursday 8:15 p.m.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-1) visit the Atlanta Falcons (2-2) in a crucial NFC South divisional contest, with both teams vying for first place. With early-season momentum on the line, this matchup could shape the race for divisional supremacy as both teams seek to establish dominance.
New York Jets at Minnesota Vikings (-2.5) Sunday 9:30 a.m.
The New York Jets (2-2) face the Minnesota Vikings (4-0) in London as part of the NFL’s International Series, with the game taking place at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. The Vikings are surprisingly undefeated, while the Jets suffered a stunning loss to Denver last week. Legendary quarterback Aaron Rodgers looks to regain the Jets’ momentum in this overseas showdown.
Baltimore Ravens (-2.5) at Cincinnati Bengals Sunday 1 p.m.
The Baltimore Ravens (2-2) will look to win an important AFC North matchup in this road contest against the Cincinnati Bengals (1-3). The Ravens were impressive in their 35-10 victory over the Buffalo Bills last week, and Cincinnati finally broke through the win column with a 34-24 triumph over the Carolina Panthers.
Carolina Panthers at Chicago Bears (-4.5) Sunday 1 p.m.
The Carolina Panthers (1-3) take on the Chicago Bears (2-2) at Solider Field on Sunday. This would have been a matchup of the past two No. 1 picks, but Carolina benched Bryce Young for veteran quarterback Andy Dalton, who has helped the Panthers move the ball effectively. Instead, fans may only see Chicago’s Caleb Williams in this matchup.
Miami Dolphins at New England Patriots (-1.5) Sunday 1 p.m.
The Miami Dolphins (1-3) come off a short week to face off against the New England Patriots (1-3) in an AFC East division showdown. The Dolphins without Tua Tagovailoa are rudderless ships passing through the night. Huntley – who debuted with just 96 passing yards in a loss to the Tennessee Titans – will try to right the ship against the Patriots.
Buffalo Bills (-1.5) at Houston Texans Sunday 1 p.m.
The Buffalo Bills (3-1) dropped a decisive Sunday night game to the Ravens this week, and now they’ll look to rebound against the Houston Texans (3-1). Houston did just enough to beat the winless Jaguars last week, and a matchup against Buffalo will feature two of the strongest offenses in the game going head-to-head.
Indianapolis Colts at Jacksonville Jaguars (-3) Sunday 1 p.m.
The Indianapolis Colts (2-2) will get their first crack at the Jacksonville Jaguars (0-4) on Sunday in this AFC South showdown. The Colts hung onto a 27-24 win on Sunday over the Steelers without Anthony Richardson, relying on the ageless wonder that is Joe Flacco to secure the win. Jacksonville is still seeking their first of the season.
Cleveland Browns at Washington Commanders (-3) Sunday 1 p.m.
The Cleveland Browns (1-3) are making the second straight road trip to take on the suddenly hot Washington Commanders (3-1). The Browns are inept on offense and have dropped two straight to teams that are at the bottom of most NFL rankings while rookie quarterback Jayden Daniels is commanding a Commanders’ offense that ranks among the best in the league.
Arizona Cardinals at San Francisco 49ers (-7.5) Sunday 4:05 p.m.
The Arizona Cardinals (1-3) travel to San Francisco to face the 49ers (2-2) on Sunday in an important NFC West battle. The Cardinals can take control of the division with a second win in the division already while the 49ers are expected to have both Deebo Samuel and George Kittle for this contest.
Las Vegas Raiders at Denver Broncos (-1.5) Sunday 4:05 p.m.
The Las Vegas Raiders (2-2) travel to face the AFC West divisional rival Denver Broncos (2-2) on Sunday. Both teams are a surprise with even records as neither was favored in last week’s contests: Denver upset the New York Jet 10-9 while Las Vegas held onto a 20-16 victory over the Browns.
Green Bay Packers (-3) at Los Angeles Rams Sunday 4:25 p.m.
The Green Bay Packers (2-2) travel west to face the Los Angeles Rams (1-3) on Sunday. The Packers narrowly missed taking down the Minnesota Vikings in an important NFC North battle, and now they’ll turn their attention to the Rams. Los Angeles is still without its prime receiving options heading into this matchup.
New York Giants at Seattle Seahawks (-6.5) Sunday 4:25 p.m.
The New York Giants (1-3) travel west to face the Seattle Seahawks (3-1) in a matchup of two teams looking to get back into the win column this week. The Giants are well-rested having been off since Thursday’s 20-15 loss to the Cowboys, yet Seattle is coming off a shorter week after dropping the Monday Night contest to the Detroit Lions.
Dallas Cowboys at Pittsburgh Steelers (-1.5) Sunday 8:20 p.m.
Long-time rivals collide when the Dallas Cowboys (2-2) square off against the Pittsburgh Steelers (3-1) in the primetime matchup Sunday. The Cowboys eked out a victory over the Giants on Thursday Night while the Steelers showed their offensive abilities under Justin Fields. Both teams will be looking to stay in their respective playoff pictures with a victory Sunday.
New Orleans Saints at Kansas City Chiefs (-5.5) Monday 8:15 p.m.
The New Orleans Saints (2-2) travel to Kansas City to face the Chiefs (4-0) on Monday. The Saints started with a red-hot offensive explosive that’s cooled over the past two outings. Kansas City continues to find ways to win games despite the mounting injuries facing the squad. The Chiefs are looking for the first 5-0 start since the 2018 NFL season.
