Commanders at Cowboys: Best Player Prop Picks
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! We have a lot to be thankful for this week, and the three games on the slate are a big part of that.
We are going to cover each game individually, cooking up our three favorite props in each contest, which can all be found on Underdog.
The second game of this slate is between the Washington Commanders and the Dallas Cowboys. While divisional games tend to be closer than others, the majority of sportsbooks have the Cowboys as 10.5-point favorites. This could leave the Commanders heading home with dejected looks, eating their turkey and pie with an empty pit in their stomachs.
When looking at the board for this game, we’ve identified three plays. Two of them are due to our belief in the Cowboys having a big game, and the other is based on how we feel the Commanders will fare in this one. Let’s take a look!
CeeDee Lamb OVER 88.5 Receiving Yards
We almost feel bad for the Commanders’ secondary in this game. They are one of the worst defenses in football and routinely get torched by opposing teams, especially those who have elite receivers.
The most recent example of this was against the New York Giants, who were quarterbacked by Tommy Devito, of all people. Devito had a field day against them, throwing for nearly 250 yards, including 82 yards to Darius Slayton.
We’re expecting more of the same this week, which is why we’re taking Lamb’s over this week. This is a line that could hit by the end of the first half judging by how last week went for the Commanders’ defense.
Brandin Cooks OVER 3 Receptions
We thought this line would be a bit higher given Cooks’ recent role in this offense. Cooks has totaled 12 catches over the past two weeks, an indication of how the team wants to utilize him.
He is a sure-handed veteran, something any team can use, especially the Cowboys. Look for Dak Prescott to call Cooks’ number several times in this one, especially if Lamb is double-covered.
Cooks gets open in this offense and should have a particularly easy time against Washington.
Sam Howell OVER 257.5 Passing Yards
The Cowboys might run away with this game, but that doesn’t mean that Sam Howell can’t put up big numbers in the meantime.
Howell has made the most of his opportunity this season, even if it hasn’t resulted in a lot of wins for the Commanders.
He has thrown for 258+ yards in three of his past four games, throwing for 300+ yards in their losses. Even if the Cowboys are ahead early, Howell should still throw for at least 275 yards in this one, hopefully cashing this line easily.
