Best Player Prop Bets for Jacksonville at New Orleans

We hope you rode with us on our Sunday Night Football props last week, as we cashed with ease, going 3/3 on our picks. It’s getting to a point in the season where players are beginning to establish patterns, making it a bit easier to take their props.

Week 7’s iteration of Thursday Night Football could be… Interesting. The Jacksonville Jaguars have played well enough to keep themselves atop the AFC South, but Trevor Lawrence hasn’t quite looked himself yet. The New Orleans Saints have been on a rollercoaster this season, currently sitting at 3-3 and in third place in the NFC South.

The consensus among sportsbooks currently has the Saints as three-point favorites, and the over/under is set at 39 points. This is largely due to current unknowns with Trevor Lawrence, who is currently day-to-day. We’re going to stay away from the Jaguars’ pass-catchers as we go over our three favorite player props from this one.

Travis Etienne Jr. OVER 63.5 Rushing Yards

Regardless of Lawrence’s status, we love Etienne’s rushing line in this game. He has been a staple of the Jaguars’ offense this season, rushing for at least 64 yards in three games this season, including a 136-yard performance against the Buffalo Bills.

If Lawrence is out, we are confident that Etienne could see over 15 carries, which would likely turn into at least 90 rushing yards. If Lawrence does play, we still like Etienne’s chances to have a big game on the ground.

Lawrence might still banged up if he plays, leaving the Jaguars to rely more heavily on their rushing attack. He seems like the safest option on what should be an otherwise questionable Jaguars offense, giving us the perfect opportunity to cash in on a significant rushing total.

Rashid Shaheed UNDER 33.5 Receiving Yards

Rashid Shaheed’s role on the Saints’ offense seems to change weekly. Some weeks, he has a massive role, and others, he’s pretty stagnant.

It seems like the Saints like to use him sparingly, as he has just three games with 6+ targets. His production is contingent on big plays, as he averages 18.6 yards per reception this season.

The Jaguars will look to lock him down in big moments should Carr look his way. With this game projected to be low-scoring, look for the Saints to run the ball a lot, especially if they pull ahead early.

While we like Shaheed as a player, we’re not going to bet that he’ll have another monster week, which is why we’re taking the under on receiving yards.

Michael Thomas OVER 50.5 Receiving Yards

If a player for the Saints is going to have a big receiving game, we’re pretty convinced it will be Michael Thomas. Thomas has been very consistent this year, averaging 54.8 receiving yards per game.

He has been a safety blanket for Derek Carr in this offense, a player that he can rely on when the team needs him most.

Thomas has achieved this mark in two of his past three games, and we’re expecting that trend to continue on Thursday night.
