If you have never built a same-game parlay, Monday night’s ALCS Game 6 is a friendly place to start. The Cleveland Guardians visit the Tampa Bay Rays at Tropicana Field (8:08 PM ET on TBS, truTV and HBO Max) with the Rays leading the series 3-2, and with just one game on the entire MLB slate, every bit of betting attention lands here.

A same-game parlay, or SGP, simply means stacking several bets from one game into a single wager. Every leg has to hit to cash, but the payout is bigger than any single leg alone. Our three-leg build leans on one simple idea: Tampa Bay controls this game with Freddy Peralta on the mound. The legs are Rays moneyline, Peralta over 14.5 outs, and Chandler Simpson over 0.5 hits. Sportsbooks price a combined SGP a little differently, so check your book for the final parlay number before you lock it in.

Leg 1: Rays Moneyline Is the Foundation

Every good parlay needs a core, and ours is Tampa Bay to win outright. The Rays are roughly -138 to -140 favorites at FanDuel and DraftKings, with the total sitting at 6.5 runs. In plain terms, a -140 price means you risk $140 to win $100, which reflects the market’s belief that the Rays are the better bet at home, though not a lock.

There are good reasons behind that price. Tampa Bay has the most wins of any American League team this season at 98-64, and it has won nine straight games Peralta has started. On the other side, Cleveland has not named a Game 6 starter. The Guardians are expected to lean on a bullpen game, possibly opened by right-hander Slade Cecconi, because Gavin Williams is lined up as the likely Game 7 starter. After using six pitchers in Sunday’s loss, that is a lot of relief innings for one staff to cover. Leg 2: Freddy Peralta Over 14.5 Outs

This is the leg that fits the story of the game. Peralta’s postseason record is 1-0 with a 0.79 ERA, and in Game 2 of this series he shut out Cleveland for six innings on four hits with six strikeouts while topping out at 99.4 mph. Since August 26 he has gone 6-0 with a 0.79 ERA over nine appearances, and his fastball velocity in the playoffs has averaged about 96.8 to 96.9 mph.

The line is 14.5 outs, which is a bit more than four and two-thirds innings. For a beginner, an outs prop is easy to track: three outs equal one inning, so you are simply betting that Peralta gets through the fifth inning and into the sixth. DraftKings has the over at +105, meaning a $100 bet would win $105 if he gets there. He went six innings in Game 2, so the length is within reach, and Tampa Bay’s bullpen has had a 4.60 ERA in this series, which gives the Rays a reason to give him a long leash. One note of caution: he recorded only two outs in relief in Game 4, so a quick hook is always possible in an elimination-style spot.

Leg 3: Chandler Simpson Over 0.5 Hits

Every parlay benefits from one simple, high-probability leg, and a hit prop is about as easy to understand as it gets. Simpson (number 14) is the Rays’ left fielder and hit .306 this season. ESPN listed Simpson over 0.5 hits at -229, which means the book thinks he gets a hit in most games, and it is the kind of heavy-favorite leg that helps smooth out the parlay rather than inflating the price.

His recent form helps. In Game 5 he went 2-for-3 with a run scored, including a double down the right-field line that started the Rays’ rally against the Cleveland bullpen. With Cleveland expected to cycle through relievers, a contact-first hitter like Simpson should get plenty of looks. If you prefer an alternative, Liam Hicks over 0.5 hits was listed at -168 on ESPN, and he had two hits in Game 5.

The Full Parlay

Put it together and the card is Rays moneyline (about -138 to -140), Freddy Peralta over 14.5 outs (+105 at DraftKings), and Chandler Simpson over 0.5 hits (-229 on ESPN). Sportsbooks price SGPs with their own adjustments, so check your book for the final combined number and confirm all three lines are still posted.

The logic is straightforward. If Peralta gives Tampa Bay six strong innings, the Rays are very likely to win, and a Simpson hit helps the offense keep the pressure on a tired Cleveland pen. The legs lean on each other, which is exactly what you want in an SGP. The risk is also clear: three things must happen, and one early Peralta stumble sinks the whole ticket. Keep your stake small, treat it as entertainment, and never bet more than you can afford to lose. New to betting? Our responsible gambling page has tools and resources to help you stay in control.
