4 Underdog Fantasy NBA Props for Friday, February 24

Fresh off the 2023 All-Star break, the NBA regular season action resumes this week. Most players will return from at least eight days of rest between games. Four teams will already be on the tail end of a back-to-back after playing Thursday, including the Cleveland Cavaliers, Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors, and Sacramento Kings.

With eight games on the schedule for Friday night, we’ve come prepared with a bundle of player props that are parlayed together from our friends at the Underdog Fantasy app. We look to capitalize on the last 20 games of the season beginning tonight.

Jalen Brunson UNDER 26.5 Points

We’re approaching this total as if it’s slightly inflated by Brunson and the Knicks’ strong play leading up to the break. New York’s prized offseason signee averaged 31.5 points per game in the ten games before last weekend’s festivities in Salt Lake City while shooting better than 50% from the field, 40% from three, and 80% from the charity stripe.

Additionally, the Knicks won five of their last six to lift themselves just beyond the play-in round spots for the upcoming postseason with 22 games remaining on their schedule.

Washington has held opponents to the 5th-lowest field goal percentage in the league this season and also commits the 5th-fewest fouls in the NBA. We like that combination at home and expect the Wizards to contain Brunson to a respectable outing.

Jimmy Butler OVER 21.5 Points

Butler downplayed the fact that he was left off the Eastern Conference’s list of All-Star selections and grinned while saying how much he’d enjoy some time off. Knowing the kind of player and gym rat that Butler is, we’re betting that he comes out ready to post a performance that peers and voters will notice.

The Heat forward scored 33 combined points in two victories against Milwaukee in early January before notching 32 against the Bucks in a road loss on February 4.

If Butler approaches this game similarly to how he would in the postseason, he could eclipse this number in the first half. Take his over in Milwaukee tonight.

Nic Claxton OVER 10.5 Rebounds

Claxton and the Nets have a new lease on this season after the trade deadline departures of Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving. The young center is in his first year of a two-year contract signed this offseason, making him the 26th highest-paid center in the league.

He should take advantage of the opportunity to improve on his best professional season, and the former Georgia Bulldog will start with 12+ rebounds against the Bulls on Friday.

Rudy Gobert UNDER 15.5 Rebounds

At this number, oddsmakers must have looked at the volume and effectiveness with which the Hornets have shot the ball this season.

Charlotte has the 4th-lowest field goal percentage in the NBA and attempts the 7th-most shots per game. The Frenchman also grabbed 17 rebounds in the Timberwolves’ loss to the Hornets earlier this season.

That said, it’s difficult to wager that Gobert jumps out of the blocks so quickly after the break. He has just three games of 16+ rebounds in his last 25 appearances, and we’ll pay to see whether he can replicate his performance from late November on this night.
