3 MLB Strikeout Props to Back on May 15, 2026

Friday night baseball is in full swing, and tonight’s pitching matchups are setting up some of the best strikeout props of the young 2026 season. With 15 games on the board, the key is knowing which arms are built to miss bats — and which lineups are walking right into a strikeout machine.

After digging through the matchup data, recent trends, and current lines, three pitcher strikeout props stand out as clear value plays tonight. Here’s the full breakdown.

Spencer Strider Is Back — and Boston Has No Answer

Spencer Strider returned from an oblique injury on May 3, and after a shaky first outing at Coors Field, he looked every bit like the shutdown ace Atlanta paid for. In his second start on May 9 against the Dodgers, Strider fired six scoreless innings and struck out eight batters on one of the best lineups in baseball. He’s now sitting on a 13.5 K/9 rate through 9.1 innings this season — a number that screams regression only if you forget this is Spencer Strider we’re talking about.

Tonight he faces the Boston Red Sox at home in Truist Park, and the matchup couldn’t be more favorable. The Red Sox are batting just .236 as a team and carry a 23% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching — one of the weaker marks in the American League. Boston is also without several key contributors to injury, further thinning a lineup that has struggled to generate offense on the road. Strider has averaged 7.0 strikeouts across his two 2026 starts, and the book has him at 6.5 tonight. At +110 on the over, you’re getting plus money on a pitcher who has already gone over this number in back-to-back appearances.

This is the kind of prop that looks even better tomorrow morning. Back Strider to keep striking people out.

The Braxton Ashcraft Breakout Is Real — and the Line Hasn’t Caught Up

If you haven’t been watching Braxton Ashcraft this season, start now. The Pittsburgh Pirates right-hander has been one of the most consistent strikeout arms in the National League, striking out 51 batters in just 48.2 innings of work in 2026. That works out to a 9.4 K/9 rate, and his last three starts have gone 6, 6, and 7 strikeouts — clearing the 5.5 line comfortably every single time.

Tonight he gets a gift of a matchup against the Philadelphia Phillies. Philadelphia’s lineup carries a 21.0% strikeout rate against right-handed pitching, and while they have star power in the middle of the order, Ashcraft’s ability to work both sides of the plate and pile up early-count swings and misses has made him a nightmare for teams trying to grind through starts. The books have him at Over 5.5 at -133, which reflects seriousness about his upside — but given he’s cleared this number in every one of his last three starts, that price is still worth paying for the reliability factor alone.

Ashcraft is generating the strikeouts consistently enough that this line feels like it should be set higher. Lock in the over.

Tanner Bibee Is a Live Dog to Punish Cincinnati

The Cleveland Guardians’ Tanner Bibee has had a frustrating 2026 season overall — he’s 0-5 despite pitching reasonably well — but his strikeout upside is very much alive. In his last start on May 9 against the Twins, Bibee went six innings and racked up nine strikeouts. That’s not an anomaly; his career K/9 marks show consistent swing-and-miss ability, and his FanGraphs projections peg him at an 8.45-8.93 K/9 range this year.

Tonight’s opponent, the Cincinnati Reds, have historically struggled to make consistent contact against Bibee. Over his career against the current Cincinnati roster, they’ve put up a 25.4% strikeout rate in plate appearances against him. Factor in that Bibee is pitching at home at Progressive Field — where he carries a 1.63 ERA and a 1.08 WHIP this season compared to his struggles on the road — and you have a pitcher in his best environment against a lineup he has personally dominated. The over is set at 6.5 and priced at +124 on FanDuel and +116 on DraftKings. That’s plus-money on a pitcher who just struck out nine in his last start and is playing at home where he is a completely different pitcher.

The value here is real. Don’t sleep on Bibee in this spot.

Lock These Three Pitchers In Tonight

The strikeout prop market on Friday’s slate is leaning hard toward three specific starters whose matchups, recent form, and statistical profiles all point in the same direction. Each of these pitchers gives you a clear reason to back the over, and between them, you have a mix of star power, emerging excellence, and home-field edge.

  • Spencer Strider OVER 6.5 Strikeouts (+110 FanDuel)
  • Braxton Ashcraft OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (-133)
  • Tanner Bibee OVER 6.5 Strikeouts (+124 FanDuel)

Play these individually or parlay Ashcraft and Bibee for a nice return if you want to press your luck. The research points the same direction — good luck tonight, and enjoy the Friday slate.
