3 MLB Strikeout Props for Wednesday, July 5
We were a perfect 2-0 on Monday with our MLB props! Logan Webb and Bryan Woo carved up their opponent’s lineups relatively easily. You just have to love betting Overs, especially when they cash early!
Let’s stay hot with 3 MLB Strikeout Props for Wednesday, July 5. Let’s get that green! Best of luck with all of your wagers today.
Alec Marsh OVER 4.5 Strikeouts (-110) (DraftKings)
Gulp! Here’s a prop that’ll make your blood pressure go up! There’s nothing like betting on a kid that’s making his 2nd MLB start and is prone to giving up tons of homers. However, despite his tendency to leave his breaking pitches up, Marsh is a power pitcher with lots of K potential.
The former Arizona State Sun Devil struck out 5 Dodgers in his MLB debut last Friday. He has a 96mph four-seam fastball and a nasty 2-seamer that falls off the table when he’s in a groove. Marsh shouldn’t have much trouble getting 5 strikeouts in this game, especially since Minnesota ranks dead last in MLB in strikeouts per game.
Marsh is averaging 5.36 strikeouts per start this season. Sure, most of those stats are against minor leaguers, but it still proves that this strikeout number may be a hair too low. Let’s roll with the Over!
Alex Cobb OVER 5.5 Strikeouts (+118) (FanDuel)
Cobb doesn’t strike out as many guys as he used to, but we love the nice plus-money price on this prop. It also doesn’t hurt that Cobb will face off against the Mariners tonight, who rank next to last in MLB in strikeouts per game.
Five of Seattle’s everyday players have a K-rate of 25.7% or higher. Jarred Kelenic and Teoscar Hernandez both have a lot of power, but they seem to strike out at least twice per game.
Even though Cobb’s stuff isn’t overpowering, his splitter can still help him rack up some strikeouts. He’s gone over this total in 3 of his last 6, making the plus-money too tempting to pass up.
Graham Ashcraft UNDER 3.5 Strikeouts (+115) (BetMGM)
Here’s another plus-money price that doesn’t make much sense to us. Ashcraft has a nice young arm, but he’s far from being an elite strikeout guy.
The 25-year-old is just 3-6 this season with a hefty 6.66 ERA and a K-rate of only 17.1%. Ashcraft pitched pretty well in his last start, but we aren’t expecting him to get too many strikeouts against a team like Washington.
The Nationals rank 1st in K-rate, and Lane Thomas is really the only guy in their lineup that strikes out often. We’ll ride the Under in this one!
