2 College Football Best Bets for Friday, November 10

Why wait til Saturday to jump into some college football action? We dug into the Friday slate of games to bring you 2 best bets for November 10. Good luck!

Best Bet: SMU -16.5 (Unibet)

The Mean Green are now just 3-6 after losing 3 straight games. In their latest, a 37-29 contest to UTSA at home, the committed 3 turnovers which negated the 25 first downs and 59% they converted on 3rd downs.

While the defense was successful in keeping Frank Harris in check through the air, they could not figure out how to stop the run. UTSA finished with 287 yards on the ground and 4 touchdowns. They can ill-afford to allow the Mustangs to establish a run game like UTSA did or it will be a long night for the Mean Green.

SMU is 7-2 and searching for a birth into the AAC title game. Their current 5-game win streak included their latest 36-31 win over Rice. Preston Stone led the Mustangs on all facets of the offense. He tossed for 225 yards and 2 scores while he ran for 81 yards and another touchdown.

The defense was able to force 3 Rice turnovers and hold them to just 2-12 on 3rd down attempts. Rice also had issues with penalties as they were called for 10 and gave up 120 yards.

Preston Stone should be able to have his way with the Mean Green defense that allows an average of 37ppg. While Stone and Company handle things on the offensive end, the Mustang defense will be shutting this North Texas team down like they have been doing to offenses all season. They rank 15th in points allowed per game (15.89) and could send North Texas home with an early loss here.

Key Trends:

  • North Texas is 0-5 ATS in their last 5 games when playing on the road against SMU.
  • North Texas is 1-7 ATS in their last 8 games against Southern Methodist.
  • SMU is 5-2 ATS in their last 7 games at home.
  • SMU is 4-2 ATS in their last 6 games against an opponent in the West Division.

Best Bet: UNLV -5.5 (BetMGM)

Everyone in the MWC is trailing Air Force but the Cowboys are not far behind. They are 6-3 on the year and are coming off a 24-15 win against Colorado State. Harrison Waylee was the story in this game as he went for 128 yards on the ground.

The defense did not allow 1 third down conversion and held the Rams to just 54 rushing yards on the night. Winning the turnover battle 3-1 was also a big boost for the Cowboys.

UNLV is also hot on the trail of Air Force. They are 7-2 and defeated New Mexico in a bounce-back spot after losing to Fresno St the week previous. The 56-14 win over New Mexico was the largest margin of victory for the Rebels on the season.

Jayden Maiava has been under center and doing a nice job for an offense that is 25th in the country and averaging 36.7ppg. They are also 10th in 3rd down conversion percentage.

The Rebels are just going to simply outscore the Cowboys at home here. Wyoming struggles to put up 20-23 points in a game. That is going to be a problem since the Rebels score in bunches. The Rebels are going to continue their streak of covering 8 of their last 9 games.

Key Trends:

  • Wyoming is 1-6 ATS in their last 7 games against an opponent in the West Division.
  • UNLV is 8-1 ATS in their last 9 games.
  • UNLV is 8-3 ATS in their last 11 games played on a Friday when playing at home.
