2 College Basketball Best Bets for Wednesday, February 21

Ready to spice up your Wednesday with some college basketball winners? Check out our 2 best bets for February 21 right here. Good luck, folks!

The Gators are near the bottom of the Top 25 with an 18-7 record. They sit in the middle of the pack in a competitive SEC conference this season. They lead the country in rebounds per game and their offensive ones have led to many bonus possessions that they have cashed in to rank 8th in points per game.

Walter Clayton Jr and Zyon Pullin are combining to average over 30ppg on 43% shooting from the field. The Gators are riding a 3-game winning streak and have won 7 of their last 8.

They are coming off a solid 88-82 road win over Georgia. Clayton dropped 21 while Pullin chipped in with 16. Thomas Hugh, averaging just 3.8ppg, put up a surprising 17 in the win.

Bama, at 18-7, finds themselves ranked 13th in the country and are atop the SEC standings. They lead the country in points per game (90.7). All their shooting percentages are near the top of the standings in the country; however, they have had trouble with turnovers.

Their shooting has led them to be the top team in the country in offensive-adjusted efficiency. Mark Sears, averaging 20.6ppg, is by far their best scorer.

Bama has won 6 of their last 7 games with the latest being a 100-75 win over the visiting Aggies. Sears put up 23 points. This was despite being outrebounded 43-35.

Best Bet: Alabama -8.5 (-105) (FanDuel)

Bama may get outrebounded again in this one but their offensive prowess will be too much for the Gators. They simply will not be able to keep pace with the Tide.

In Tuscaloosa, the Tide have been nearly unbeatable this season and that is not likely to change in this game. Outside of Bama shooting ice cold for the entirety of the game, the Tide should be able to roll right through the Gators.

Key Trends:

  • UF is 3-2 ATS against ranked teams.
  • UF is 1-4 ATS in their last 5 games against Alabama.
  • Bama is 11-2 ATS this season as a home favorite.
  • Bama is 11-6 ATS following a win.

Duke Blue Devils @ Miami Hurricanes

#8 Duke is nipping at the heels of the Tarheels who lead the ACC. Like many previous Duke teams in the past, these Blue Devils live and die by the three-ball. They are in the Top 20 in 3pt percentage and have been tremendous at taking care of the basketball.

They turn the ball over just 9.5 times per game is ranked 36th. Big man, Kyle Filipowski is averaging 17ppg and over 8 boards per game to lead the Blue Devils.

Jeremy Roach, Senior guard, has given the Blue Devils the outside play that has allowed Filipowski to have a more open area to work with in the paint. They are on a 4-game winning streak with the latest being a 76-67 win over FSU on the road.

The Canes are near the bottom of the bunch in the ACC with a 15-11 mark. They rank around the 100th spot or worse in nearly every measurable category.

Norchad Omier has been keeping them afloat as he is averaging 17.8ppg and 10rpg. He is shooting over 60% from the field and has gone 9 straight games of scoring in double-figures.

They are during a 4-game losing streak. Those losses were capped off with a road loss to BC 85-77. Despite Omier and Cleveland combining for 40 points, they could not stop the BC offense.

Best Bet: Miami +6.5 (-105) (FanDuel)

This line jumped out at us when we looked early this morning. This Duke team has been rolling while this Miami team has been in shambles, yet the line is just 2 possessions?

Something seems off and we are going to play the Canes here. They are a decent perimeter defending team and they will need to rely on that in this matchup.

They have stepped up against ranked opponents at home this season and we believe they will do the same again here. Take the points with the Canes!

Key Trends:

  • Duke is 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games against Miami.
  • Miami is 2-0 ATS as a home underdog,
  • Miami is 2-0 ATS this season at home against ranked opponents.
