RB Draft Strategy for 2022 Fantasy Season

In case you didn’t know, running back is usually the position that makes or breaks your fantasy team! Since the position is so important, we recommend selecting two running backs within the first 4 rounds of your draft. Look for two quality backs that are likely to rack up a ton of yards, as well as some easy touchdowns down around the goal line.

Since the position is so thin, we also recommend that you draft a third RB within the first 7 rounds of your draft. To get 3 running backs in your first 7 picks you may have to wait at QB and probably TE as well. Don’t worry though, because both of those positions are loaded with talent so you shouldn’t have much trouble finding viable options.

Using our rankings as a general guide, we recommend that you select three running backs ranked 32nd or higher. Your opponents may be a little mad at you for monopolizing the position, but who cares if it gives you an edge on Sundays!

In a perfect world, you’ll draft one RB in the Top 10, one in the Top 20, and one in the Top 30. Derrick Henry, Najee Harris, and Javonte Williams sound like the perfect combination to us. All three of them are capable of scoring multiple touchdowns in a given week.

Once you have secured three of the top 35 RBs on the board, you can wait until later in the draft to target one of your top sleepers. Best of luck in 2022 and Happy Drafting!
