NBA Playoff Dueling DFS Lineups May 3

NBA Playoff Dueling DFS Lineups May 3

Chris won Game 9. A contest in which we both missed the Jimmy Buckets train and placed terribly in.

The series is now 6 – 3.

In summary, Chris edged out the win 187.62 to 168.75 (it wasn’t pretty).

I was low on Embiid and Butler, both of whom had really solid performances.

Forgetting that last night’s Showdown lineups were ever constructed is probably the best way to proceed. (Yuck.)

There are 2 games on tonight’s NBA Playoff Slate.

Thus, we’ll be competing in DraftKing’s NBA Playoff Classic Format.

Hello Rookie Game 10 will be determined by 6 players, as we share only 2.

No vid today. Wifey working from home. Enjoy your day away from our ugly mugs.

Pick through our May 3rd Classic Format NBA lineups below. If you think you can do better, we invite you to compete against us.

We’re going to try something new however, with the beginnings of a DK Hello Rookie League. Yes, it’s FREE. Click the following link: Join Free Hello Rookie League, to participate in tonight’s Hello Rookie contest and of course those to come.

Joseph’s NBA Playoff May 3rd DFS Lineup Thought Process

After last nights absolutely dreadful performance, I’m going to slow my role a tad. I clearly missed the Jimmy Butler and Joel Embiid play – a mistake I’ll not make again.

With that being said, I love Lillard to have a bounce back game at home where he shoots slightly better from behind the arc on average.

I’m anticipating Rodney Hood seeing a continued amount of increased minutes. He proved efficient in Game 2 at Denver on both ends of the court. Additionally, Harkless is dealing with an ankle and Hood seems to be rising to the playoff occasion in general.

Giannis plays just fine on the road and I’d be upset if I didn’t have a share of his minutes, boards and points.

I’m down with Mirotic. In terms of fantasy value, it’s definitely there at $3,900. A three point threat that gets boards and points, Mirotic is the PF/C with B. Lopez mostly MIA.

Jokic is a constant double-double, if not triple-double threat. He, like Lillard, had an absolutely terrible Game 2 (although the Joker finished the second half stronger). Also, Kanter’s D was nothing short of heroic. Although, Kanter’s D may very way continue, I’m paying up for Jokic with the opinion that he isn’t held back 2 games in a row.

Big fan of Jaylen Brown. Boston got humiliated in Game 2 @ MIL and I think they fire on all cylinders at home. Furthermore, Brown has been as solid and steady as they come. At $5,200, I feel confident that he meets or exceeds value.

Yes indeed, Zach Collins made yet another hellorookie_j lineup. Clearly I’m reaching because I payed up for Lillard, Jokic and Giannis. However, I actually feel great about it. Collins is being relied on (getting minutes) in a big way down low. Next to Kanter, Collins is the big guy getting dirty in the paint on the Portland roster.

If there’s one play I’m not exactly sure about, it’s Malik Beasley. Again, having to reach a little deeper with my 3 hero strategy, I find myself torn between Beasley and Torrey Craig. Craig had a face mask on in the second half of Game 2 and was needing to replace cotton puffs in his nose a few times throughout the second half. In addition Craig’s fantasy production hasn’t been anything to write home about.

On the other hand, Murray’s been babying a thigh. Being that Malik has been getting 20+ minutes regardless of the 2 aforementioned factors, I’m placing my bet on Beasley.

Joe and I do this every day, and I’m still amazed at how little he’s picked up over our time running the podcast together. I guess it’s like that classic saying goes, you can lead a horse to water, but can’t teach it to fish. I look forward to taking a 7-3 series lead tonight, thanks in part to these four plays that Joe missed:

Kyrie Irving is a matchup problem for the Bucks. He put up 51.75 DraftKings points in just 33 minutes in game one, and should be in perfect position for a huge bounce back game at home tonight. The Celtics have not played a home game in over two weeks and the TD Garden crowd is going to be electric. In their last home playoff game, Irving put up 63 DraftKings points against the Pacers in game 2 of the opening series. I think he has a similar ceiling tonight.

I don’t know what happened inside of Joe’s head to allow him to miss the ball on Khris Middleton tonight, but this guy is plug and play for me. He’s been the most consistent player in these playoffs, with a 4x floor, and has hit 6x in 4 of 6 playoff games. He’s red hot, going 7 of 10 from 3 in game 2, and on the year averages over 39 DraftKings PPG against the Celtics. Lock… him.. in.

Enes Kanter has been really, really good in 5 of Portland’s 7 playoff games a stretch that saw him average 33 minutes per game. Over that same stretch, he increased his DraftKings PPG from 29 PPG in the regular season to 39. He particularly likes this matchup with Nikola Jokic, who has struggled with shooting big men throughout his career, and is averaging over 34 DraftKings PPG against the Nuggets this season. I have Kanter projected for 41 DraftKings points in game three, putting him just over the 6x value mark.

Just two days removed from being lambasted by the Al-Farouq Aminu, and Joe still hasn’t learned his lesson… He put up 40+ on back-to-back games against the Denver to close out the regular season, and put up 27+ in game 2 despite taking a 0 in blocks, steals, and only recording one assist. With the series in Portland for the next two games, I think Aminu is even more active tonight, and is a lock for a double-double and 6x value tonight.
