NBA Playoff Dueling DFS Lineups April 29

Joseph pulled off the win in Hello Rookie NBA Playoff DFS Dueling Lineups Game 5 in spectacular fashion.

The ever important series is now 3 – 2, in which Chris unfortunately continues to lead.

Honestly, I narrowly pulled Game 5 out. I ended up winning 245.88 to 239.25.

To summarize Friday’s matchup, Kevin Durant had 105 fantasy points (captain), Danilo Gallinari had 63.375 (captain), Patrick Beverley had 45.5 and Chris’s Alfonzo McKinnie ‘experiment’ failed as he only brought in 4.25 fantasy points.

We’re into another round with 2 games on the NBA Playoff Slate tonight.

Yet again, we have 5 of the same players in our lineups.

In all, 3 players will determine who takes the Hello Rookie Dueling Lineup Game 6.

Joseph’s NBA Playoff April 29th DFS Lineup Thought Process

While I don’t feel hyper confident about my lineup tonight, I still think a can pull off the W against Chris.

Unfortunately, we share 5 of the same players, some of which I was hoping to be x factors.

Nevertheless, it will all boil down to Lillard, Siakam and Millsap v McCullum, Aminu and Jokic.

Damian Lillard is white hot and as referenced in the Hello Rookie Podcast today, everything Portland does revolves around him. In my opinion, (regardless of his recent 50 point outing) he’s one of the most underrated of the all-stars in the league.

Pascal Siakam gets boards and points. Playing along side Kawhi Leonard and Kyle Lowry, he sees open shots and is relied upon to convert. He shoots the 3 ball at .458 at home compared to .292 on the road and averages a total of 35.2 fantasy points v PHI this year. His ceiling is 50+ fantasy points and is average floor (over the past 10) is well north of 30.

It’s fairly difficult to get excited about relying on Paul Millsap at 34 years of age, especially with the amount of gravity the Joker produces. However, at $4,800 he rounded our my lineup and fit my needs. If somehow, the Joker’s production decreases, I’m taking a shot that Millsap’s production increases. It’s also a pick based on the overall Portland big man issue, which is right now in question as Kanter is reeling from a separated shoulder. (Crossing my fingers.)

Joe and I ended up with 5 of the same players for the second time in the Dueling Lineups series, but we started this thing in the playoffs so we have not had more than a two game slate to date.

I’ll focus on the three guys Joe missed the boat on tonight:

Nikola Jokic – The Blazers are having big man problems at the worst possible time. Jokic had an MVP type season and finished last series with a bang averaging 32/13/10/2 in games 6 and 7. He averaged 54 DraftKings PPG against the Blazers in the regular season, and that was with Nurkic and a healthy Kanter. He clearly loves this matchup, has higher splits at home on the season, and will have a mismatch no matter how Portland tries do defend him. Side note, a Jokic triple double is +350 on Bovada.

CJ McCollum – While McCollum didn’t have the crazy ceiling game like Lillard did in game 5, he held pace in games 1-4 with a nearly identical DraftKings PPG average. As I mention in the show, if the Nuggets decide to play Harris on Lillard I think McCollum will feast on young Jamal Murray. It’s night-night-forever for Joey if McCollum can give me similar production to what Lillard does tonight, because the Joker’s going ham.

Al-Farouq Aminu – For whatever reason, Aminu has loved this matchup this season. He averaged 36 DraftKings PPG in four regular season games against the Nuggets, more than 50% higher than his regular season average. That number would be over 7x his salary tonight (he averaged 5x value against the Spurs in round one). Given how banged up the Blazers frontcourt is, I expect Aminu to added minutes tonight.

This series has a trend developing… I rally off a couple wins, get cocky, build a ridiculous lineup, get beat, then bounce back in dominant fashion. Bounce back night tonight. If Joe beats me tonight I film tomorrow’s podcast topless. Not going to happen.

Hello Rookie NBA Playoff Dueling Lineups Summary

I’m excited to watch the games tonight.

If Jokic goes off and Millsap does nothing, I’m in trouble.

On the other hand, if Lillard goes off, Siakam has an above average night and Jokic & McCullum have average or sub-par nights, I might just have a shot.

If I don’t tie the Hello Rookie Dueling Lineup Series tonight, I will certainly be bringing it even by the end of the week.

Bow to Lillard.

End.
