NBA Playoff Dueling DFS Lineups April 26

Chris wins again by a skinny margin in Hello Rookie Dueling Lineups Game 4.

He pulls ahead, bringing the overall series to 3 – 1.

In a high scoring contests (#1 put up 342.75), I lost 292.25 to 307.75.

To summarize Game 4, Zubac DNP. (I chose to roll the dice & I accept the loss. Had I plugged Looney, I still would have lost by .25.)

Nevertheless, it’s Showdown time. We have a whopping 1 game NBA Playoff Slate tonight, and there’s bound to be a ton of shared players.

We have 3 of the same players – again, a complete coincidence.

Therefore, a total of 3 different players (including the captain position) will determine who wins our Game 5.

Gallinari received the most minutes (42) out of his last 10 games in the Clippers 120 – 121 win in Game 5. He didn’t shoot particularly well from beyond the arc at .273 (3 – 11), but he’s being heavily relied upon in a win or go home situation.

With DraftKings Showdown being the game format, I’m paying a little less for D.G at $8,600 for the captain slot. Frankly, K.D, S.C and D.G, as we all know well, have a tremendous ceiling. By choosing the cheaper of the 3, I’m able to also include K.D, S.C in the lineup, along with a more rounded out overall squad.

K.D and Steph don’t need much of an outlook. Let it fly boys. (I’m hoping that they at least keep their fantasy numbers about even to minimize the Showdown’s captain position value.)

Kevon Looney is my deepest reach at $3,600. He’s averaging somewhere around 20 minutes and 15 fantasy points per game in the last 10 outings.

Jamychal Green had a solid Game 5, going 3 – 6 beyond the arc. With their backs against the wall, it’s all hands on deck and Green will provide fantasy value.

Patrick Beverley is locked in like a pit bull. I expect him to yet again, leave it all on the court. He had 40+ fantasy points in the last 2.

I’m calling tonight the the Alfonzo McKinnie experiment. It’s just so damn easy to hit value when your salary is $1,000. McKinnie has played in all 5 games of the series, and had a 16x performance in game 3… sold yet? You shouldn’t be.

As I mention in the video, going uber cheap on McKinnie and Looney allows me to roster my top 4 players for tonight, and start the big dog in the captain spot. I love Looney’s floor, and don’t think we have scratched the surface of what his ceiling could be if given more minutes with the starters.

It’s a huge gamble, but I think I have outs… Golden State is a double digit favorite and if the game gets out of hand McKinnie could see added minutes, and has been extremely productive when he has been on the floor. F#@* it it’s Friday.

Hello Rookie NBA Playoff Dueling Lineups Summary

Look, this is a 1 Game slate with the DraftKings Showdown format.

Anyone telling you that they feel certain or confident in their lineup placing high tonight is lying.

Even with the additional variables that the Showdown format adds, we’re still limited to a group of roughly 10 players.

I’m simply betting that the majority of Showdown lineups tonight are going to make K.D their captain and that D.G puts up solid numbers. In other words, I wanted to differentiate my lineup from the herd.

The reality is, it’s a roll of a three sided dice. Those three sides being K.D, D.G and S.C. Given that D.G is the cheapest of those 3, I went with him, allowing me to featured K.D, S.C and a rounded out remainder.

If I’m worried about anything, it’s the x factors that both Lou Williams and Montrezl Harrell can be in this particular contest.

We shall see what happens. Either way, it’s going to be fun to pull for Gallinari to produce.
