June 5 DraftKings NBA Finals Lineups

Joseph grabbed the Hello Rookie Dueling Lineups win in Game 2 of the NBA Finals.

I won 210.38 to 198.

It’s also noteworthy that my secondary lineup outperformed my primary by ]17[, as Boogie at Captain paid off.

In Game 3 of the 2019 NBA Finals, we share 3 players in our dueling lineups. Chris is rolling with Steph at Captain and I’m rolling the dice in a big way on Quinn Cook.

Joseph’s NBA Finals June 5 DFS Lineup Thought Process

Boogie’s back…

Iggy manages, somehow to produce 30 fantasy points rather consistently.

Now, Klay & Looney are hobbled. It’s unclear to what degree however.

Quinn Cook seemed to gain the bulk of Klay’s minutes in the second half of Game 2.

Draymond is in full lockdown mode on Siakam, although neither of their fantasy value’s seem to suffer.

Again, with Iggy and Klay having less than fully stable wheels, I’m guessing Draymond’s workload yet increases. Although I don’t love it, I’m also guessing that Quinn Cook’s fantasy value increases. After all, GS indeed needs 5 on the floor and Livingston might as well be wearing a suit and have a clipboard in his hand.

Steph is going to Steph like things.

I expect Cousins to continue rolling off from a whopper of a Game 2. He’s an emotional player in his first NBA Finals – he’ll continue to play on another level. Crossing fingers on foul trouble.

Fred VanVleet’s fantasy value is stable and will rightfully be in the majority of lineups tonight.

Serge is fairly valued and will likely be tasked with being a menace for Boogie.

Kawhi & Pascal will do their best to keep pace offensively with a never ending barrage from all of GS.

Chris’s NBA Finals June 5 DFS Lineup Thought Process

Kerr and Nurse are continuing the trend we have grown accustomed to throughout these playoffs by playing their cards and injury reports close to the vest.

We create these lineups extremely early so we have no clue what is happening with Klay. A hamstring is not like a sprained ankle… much like KD’s calf strain, one does not simply ‘play through’ hamstring pain.

With this in mind, I’m operating under the assumption that the Warriors elect to rest Klay tonight. However, given the nature of the injury, if he does play I would assume he’s fine and think he will actually have a big game at home.

Operating under the assumption that he’s out, Steph, who I would have had in my lineup either way, will get just about record usage in a home playoff game. I’m expecting fireworks, and have him in the captain spot.

Despite his inability to put together a ‘complete’ game through the first two games of the series, I continue to believe Kyle Lowry is a smart fantasy play in this matchup. He’s particularly intriguing if Klay is out tonight and he is able to rest/help more on defense with Cook or Livingston getting extended minutes.

Jordan Bell is more than a punt. He has been a fantasy machine in limited minutes throughout the playoffs, and could pay off in a big way if he gets to 15+ minutes with an out of shape combination of Boogie and Bogut on extreme minute limits.

We should have seen this coming out of Joe. The second a scrub point guard sticks his head out of the ground, Joe can’t wait to go all in on him on DraftKings. We suffered through it throughout the Bucks/Raptors series, he couldn’t get enough Austin Rivers, Fred VanVleet is a savior, and now Quinn Cook is his captain. God help us.

Easy win for the good guys tonight. I’ll head into game 4 with a comfortable 17-11 lead and look damn good doing so.

Hello Rookie NBA Finals Dueling Lineups Summary

We have some interesting differences in our Dueling Lineups competition tonight.

The main difference being Bell v Cook.

Of which, I think could really go either way. The fact is, GS indeed needs another big man to replace Looney.

Nonetheless, when it comes to GS and specifically, Kerr, I’m betting on Cook being the fantasy play between the two.

With that being said, we’re faced with another polar opposite approach to the captain position.

Chris is going top-shelf with Steph and I’m reaching deep on Quinn.

By going top tier, he’s forced to essentially reach on Bell.

On the other hand, by reaching for Cook at captain, I’m able to fit Pascal & VanVleet into the mix.

Honestly, I think this a coin flip. I like Cook to tremendously exceed value, however, Steph at el’ capitan is hard to argue with.

We talk about basically all the variables involved with GS injuries, except for of course, Steph’s ever increased value.

It could very well be a night where Steph has another 80 – 100+ fantasy points at captain. In which case, the reach in Bell in completely minimized.

It’ll be fun to watch.

End.
